Mum and dad had their first joint exhibition together in 30 years the other day ! ⭐️

Don’t know why it took that long …. But so proud of them getting their work out there and we met so many lovely people this weekend our hearts are full ! ❤️

I do regret asking @ms_hortense to take photos with me, and artists @bottlealleyartmarket. She was sucking on a blue lolly, making faces and shouting at passers by.

She just doesn’t have my class or decorum.

A fantastic Sunday at #MeetArtistsShapingSussex @delawarr run by @zeroh_studio.

So much to explore.

We were blown away by the stunning work of @adaesiukairo. She supported us back in 2025 in our @atownexploresabook exploration with insights into her process as we created our sculpture inspired by locally found fossils.

So lovely to remain connected and see how Adaesi’s work is developing.

We think Adaesi’s sculptures exhibited outdoors at #DeLaWarrPavilion should be a permanent fixture❤️

Adaesi Ukairo works as a sculptural artist in copper and brass.
Using hammers and forming stakes she moulds her metal into abstract, free flowing forms, creating distinct, highly textured and patinated pieces.
On graduating from a Silversmithing and Allied Crafts degree, she set up her workshop in London, exhibiting her work and collaborating on projects with architects, artists and designers. Since moving to Hastings, the ancient coastal terrain has had an influence on her recent sculptural work.
She was recently invited to Penland School of Craft in North Carolina to be part of a ‘Visiting Collective Cultivating a Network of Black Artists Working With Metal’ and most recently to the Scottish Borders at the Hugo Burge Foundation for a month’s residency in the metalsmithing workshop. What an awesome week it's been...
Much hammering as usual but with copper! @adaesiukairo has almost concluded her residency here and we've been insanely lucky to have her. This week she showed us her free forming, air raising, metal bending magic and we made an EPIC piece of art together.

Go check out her stuff she's truly brilliant!

Amongst this, we've also been getting everything in order for @borders_art_fair next week! An exciting time for us at the Hugo burge foundation!
