Can anyone guess what I’ve been working on?!

@_stephenspencer has released a fabulous new song all about Dandeloosha, and I couldn’t help myself!

Here are a few snippets. I almost prefer the scruffy sketch at the end to be honest. Do you? You can see how I used photo reference of the stages of dandelion growth, to create the characters at the end.

Happy Publication Day to Poo in the Zoo: Ready Set Poo! 🏁

The animals are building the ultimate poo-powered race cars. But - oh no! - who's that dastardly driver sabotaging the race? The racecourse is becoming more doo-doo dangerous by the minute! Who will zoom to victory, and who will be left to finish last? 🏎️

As the Poo in the Zoo series zooms past its 10-year anniversary, Ready Set Poo races back onto shelves with a shiny new cover. With fast paced rhymes, heaps of humour, and the bold illustrations that have defined the series from the start, Steve Smallman (@stevesmallmanbooks) and Ada Grey (@adagreyillo) have created the ultimate poo-themed vehicle book for children! 💩

Keep an eye out for these exciting new covers on all the Poo in the Zoo books in your local bookshop! 🎉

My orange tom Tiger, would eat 24/7 if I let him. He’s a bottomless pit. Is it just ginger cats?

Poo in the Zoo The Great Poo Mystery written by @stevesmallmanbooks illustrated by @adagreyillo and published by @littletigerbooks

Little Bob McGrew is back and he’s got one less job to do thanks to Robbie Robot who’s busy cleaning up the poo. But one morning Bob wakes up to a zoo covered in poo and a missing robot, luckily Arabella Slater has arrived and she’s offered to help Bob with his poo problem - will she be able to save the day?

This is the second book in the Poo in the Zoo Series, my Little Bookworm absolutely loves the first book and was really excited to read the second, it definitely does not disappoint. There is still loads of poo (although no fluorescent ones this time) and also another charming rhyming story with quirky characters who just seem to love animal poo. If you enjoyed this first one, this is definitely a must read, if you haven’t read the first one - don’t worry you will be able to read this one as a standalone book. The illustrations are cute and the story is laugh out loud funny, I’m sure we will share more in this series soon.

Sneaky peaky Trunk Elliot progress! I thought you might like to see the different stages that go into creating a world for a character. Interpreting @_stephenspencer ‘s fabulous song has been the most fun! This is the part where Trunk Elliot’s baby octopus has goed into the sea, the forest in the sea. Here, I’ve already worked out the layout but have so many decisions about colours to make. So colourish!
Stay tuned for more soon!

Doing some procrastination scrolling one day, this lovely little song by @_stephenspencer stopped me in my tracks. “Please, please, please can I illustrate this?” I commented, and people seemed to agree.
I sent him a message, and Stephen said YES!!!
Here’s the result.
