Haven’t seen one of these in DFW yet, so I had to try setting it. What I thought was just a gimmick actually turned out to be quite challenging and much more involved than I was expecting. Kung Fu(v8/7B+) ✅
Kneeling Before Power(v10/7C+) ✅
Grand Dragon(v7/7A+) ❌
Leather Face(v7/7A+) ✅

I didn’t realize how much I needed this trip til it was over. The mental reset was perfect and it was even better that Will and I got to introduce outdoor climbing to some good friends!
I ended up accomplishing two out of the three goals I had set out with, only failing to push myself mentally enough to finally top out Grand Dragon. While I was sad to leave without it, especially after literally holding the lip of the boulder in my hands. I know that I can do it now and I gained a lot of confidence achieving a new high point. Can’t wait til next year! by @adam.kmight

It’s my birthday today!
Feels weird to hear “24 years old”. In honor of that, I wanted to do something I haven’t done in a while and set a boulder with the entirety of my stylistic biases prevalent. Those being, strange sequencing, dynamic movement, pulling power, and compression. I packed all of that into 9 moves and ended up with this as a final product.

This was my favorite boulder I set for the Flash or Trash comp we held this weekend. Hardest flash of the round and I can promise you that I did NOT flash lol. Grade is in the range of low to mid end v10/7C+. by @adam.kmight

Force of Flight (v8/7b)

Great day out with an even better crew. @jojos.jugs showed me this one mover I’d never tried before on the left side of the Hangar. Took a little throwing myself into the pads, but I ended up figuring it out. Very unique. taken in McGee Creek Natural Scenic Recreation Area by @adam.kmight

On a side note, I’ve been having fun making these little edits. I want to add more to them, but I feel quite limited on instagram. Anybody got recommendations for mobile video editing apps? by @adam.kmight

I can’t express how much I love my job. I’m so grateful to be able to work in this industry with some of my favorite people on this planet. The DFW climbing community brought meaning into my life when I thought I had none, and it brings me so much joy to see the people within it enjoying the fruits of, not only my labor, but the labor of the all the amazing people who work so hard to keep these gyms up and running.

Even though my stories recently might make it seem all doom and gloom, my life could be much much worse. You gotta take time to appreciate what you have in the moment before it inevitably disappears and you’re left grasping at memories.

My favorite of mine from today’s set at Grapevine. Sloper tech around a strange bulge feature, with lots of trust in your feet required for the top. Super fun to figure out the subtleties on this one. Goes around v7/7A+. taken in Movement Grapevine by @adam.kmight
