This project started with a @topps x @nyknicks Championship Pack and a simple idea: glass the cards directly into the foam.

Cards are fragile, and we were unsure how the resin and catalyst would react with the cards. Apologies to @tyler_kolek , but your card became our test subject.

Success. The resin didn’t damage the card, and the glass came out near perfect.

From there, we built a six-pack of boards—one for each of the starting five, plus Mitch. @jalenbrunson1 @jhart @oanunoby @mikalbridges @karltowns and big Mitch.

Each board has a trading card on the deck, along with orange and blue pin lines. The bottom of each board has the players number.

Built from start to finish in New York.

@macallistersurfboards @kingsglassing

They won’t be on the website until tomorrow. DM us if you’d like to claim one. Long fish are $900, short fish are $800.

The backyard shaper has always been at the heart of surf culture. Long before surfboards became big business, they were built in garages, sheds, and backyards. The relationship between surfer and shaper, has been at the center of the sport- pushing surfing forward while keeping the culture personal and connected.

Will Kirk of @macallistersurfboards is keeping that spirit alive - building boards from his yard on the east end. We have been stocking his boards for the last 2 years. It’s been fun to see his progression.

Will is delivering a very special batch of boards this week. Start to finish in NY 💙🧡

More to come. Stay tuned. by @adam.mar

Growing up, surf culture was driven by things you had to wait for.

The new issue of Surfer. The latest Transworld. A worn copy of The Surfer’s Journal left on the counter of your local shop. A VHS or DVD passed between friends until it barely worked.

There was something special about that wait. You found things through friends, through shops, through magazines and films—and when something finally landed in your hands, you spent time with it.

Two years ago, we released AM SURF Issue No. 1 as a nod to that era. A printed reminder that culture is built slowly.

Well, two years later, AM SURF issue No 2 is finally here.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share some of the stories that make this issue so special.

Hope you enjoy!

Surf Swap and Sample Sale.

Our final swap of the season will be Saturday, September 5- 9am-6pm.

Boards can be dropped off at 9am on Saturday morning. You are welcome to hang for the day or feel free to leave and come back at the end. Boards need to be picked up at 6pm sharp.

The shop doesn’t take any commission from the event. Whatever you sell you keep. One addition to the format this year - we are offering an additional 20% of buying power from the store if you keep your swap sales as a store credit. Example: sell a board for $1000, get $1200 in store credit. You can also just walk away with your initial sale price.

This swap will also be tied in with our year end sample sale.

Should be a busy one! See you there!

Happy to introduce @donaldbrink to the shop- a shaper who’s spent over two decades questioning why surfboards look the way they do. His design philosophy is simple- your front foot and back foot aren’t doing the same job, so why should a boards rails be identical on both sides.

An insane batch of asyms are now available.

If you make it to the last few slides - Donald shares a little bit of his creative process, in addition to the mood board he asked us to create to inspire his design choices for the collection.

More on the batch is on our blog- which can be accessed on our website “ AM SURF BLOG” by @adam.mar

I Caught a Fish with My Hands: Photo Essay published in AM Surf No 2 from @adam.mar

A story from my childhood and my first encounter with a menhaden, the species whose recovery has helped change the East End for the better. Looking back, I had no idea that this small fish would shape so much of my life and work.

“A small fish hit my ankles, washed ashore by a wave. The creature floundered momentarily on the sand before a second wave swept it back to sea. It was a yellow-flag August afternoon, and the offshore wind was combing back the crests of waves that stood tall over my four-and-a-half-foot frame. I was eleven.

Instinctively, I reached down and grabbed the cold, greasy-feeling fish with my hands. Its length was double the width of my palms and it weighed about the same as a large apple. Before it could writhe free, I grabbed a bucket, filled it with water, and dropped the fish in. A small crowd of friends and strangers formed around me to get a closer look. We studied it for a few minutes before releasing it back to the water… “
