Failed it then nailed it at the #nuclearrush #deathslide last weekend. Sunday was definitely my better day!

Usually my last run of the year amazingly well supported as usual. I didn't manage a PB but kept it under 1 hour 15 on what even I must admit are slightly tired legs, especially for distance. Was storing the first 8-9k but couldn't hold on in the end. Still very happy and grateful for much better weather than last year. by @adam.wakeling86

@fortitude.ultra by @fullsteam_sport last weekend.
10 hours of cows, ponies, and 4 miles of @pippingford parks hilly trails every hour. I'd never run more than 30 miles before this and I was two weeks past the spartan ultra, so why not go for 40? 30 seemed too little for 10 hours and trying for 50 was just not enough turn around time.

Really enjoyed the event, ran with some great people and kept very consistent lap times which surprised me. Not sure if I'll do another, but definitely great fun through the pain. by @adam.wakeling86

What to do for DOMS the day after an ultra? Why the same exercises but lighter of course. Sundays spartan Super and Sprint 10 and 5km with 45more obstacles between them.

The Super was not fast, I was still fine for obstacles but was pretty much done on the running beyond a series of light jogs, but 1 hour 42 is definitely not too bad given the day before.

The final sprint was a jolly as usual. There's something about running with @team_wildfire_ocr that makes even the last 5k of a 75km weekend great fun. And let's face it I can never resist an opportunity to showboat a bit when its not a competitive race. Plus it was and my first ever run joining in the Tutu fun 😁

Massive thankyou to @pips.ocr.adventures for my post race beer, and message on the cup ❤️ It was just what I needed after all that. by @adam.wakeling86

Last @spartanraceuk of the year and it was a BIG one. 75k over two days (including spartans usual bonus KMs) starting with the #SpartanUltra 50km and 60 obstacles running the second half alongside @robgreen92 doing his first ultra marathon.

A few hours later it was back out for the #NightSprint with headtorch on alongside @becks_ocr and @heathers.excellent.adventure

I was definitely feeling the pain for that one, toughest run of the weekend but glad I dragged myself back out there. There's something just that little bit cooler about running through dark woods with headtorches on. by @adam.wakeling86

Some call it the #SpartanUltra, some the first race of the weekend. 52km of trails, hills, bracken and obstacles. It nearly beat me down towards the end. The bucket carry was brutally heavy and failing both spear throws by a hair was hard to take but I made it round with no other obstacle failures and managed to rally for the night sprint a few hours later. Massive shout out to @robgreen92 for the company on the second lap, we pulled each other through some tough moments before you "Anted" me at spear throw 😜 by @adam.wakeling86

Last race weekend of the @classicracingmc season at @malloryparkcircuit and it all finally came together. A much better weekend barring a shortcut across some grass in practice. I think Rich forgot about edwinas chicane. 4 3rd place results ought to have given us 3rd in the championship 🤞but I'm mostly happy about 4 race finishes and some great battles with Phil and Trev @groves1961 on no 63.

Mallory may not be a complicated circuit but there's not much time to relax and its definitely tricky enough.

@spartanraceuk #SpartanSouthWest and my first ever one day #Trifecta

Having qualified for next years euros already I could afford to pace myself, and other than the ongoing relentless assault by the native wildlife resulting in me getting stung by a bee in the first km of the first race I had a great time. 35km and 75 obstacles total, still hopeless at spear throw. Otherwise aced it. Good training for the biggest one ever at pippingford later in the year.

Sharing the races with the rest of @team_wildfire_ocr just made it all that much better its never easy to get back out there for the second or even third race except when you know how much of a laugh its going to be. by @adam.wakeling86

Saturday at @ocrwc2026ireland may have been serious business, but the sunday fun run/@spartanraceireland sprint was anything but. Alongside a bunch of jockeys and horses #Spiderman went on the road in front of people from all round the world. Reactions varied from confusion among some of the American camp to three Brazilian runners requesting photos with me half way round. by @adam.wakeling86

Its official. I am the SLOWEST athlete in my age group to complete the course at the OCR world championships @ocrwc2026ireland , where I represented Team GB, and I am more than happy with that!

To actually complete the course was my only goal going in and I knew the best way to do that was to restrain my running. Luckily it worked and I came over the finish line with 1 out of my 3 bands intact having only failed 2 rigs.

Objective achieved and standard set for next year's Euros as completing the world's qualifies me to stay on the team.🇬🇧 😁 🇬🇧

Mixed experience racing back at @doningtonpark last weekend. 4 races cut down to 3 due to incidents and we only actually finished 1. Stuck it in the gravel twice, I fear we're both taking time to really find our groove this year, one race weekend left in the season for us at mallory, but loving being back on the outfit with @classicracingmc

I first ran a race called @forest_warrior_ocr in 2019. I returned to it in 2023 and came 4th, which i repeated in '24 and again in '25 after I got lost while in 2nd place. This year I finally managed to hit my first ever OCR "podium" with a first place finish, despite missing a course marker again!

Typical that a sign would fall down in the one bit of the course that was different to last year. Luckily it didn't make a big difference and I was able to rejoin where I left.

Unfortunately the only course photo of me is running up a nondescript section of track, so i decided to do a roundup of forest warrior through the years instead.
