What a way to announce that Luna Roo has been selected as the 2026 National Simultaneous Storytime book by @alianational LIVE on national TV 🤯🤯

It was not on my bingo card for 2025 but thank you so much to @alexryan4 @larryemdur @kyliegillies and @channel7 for having us on @morningshowon7 today.

The NSS is such a wonderful event for Australian children’s books and will get millions of Australians reading Luna Roo on 27 May 2026.
This is perfectly nestled between major football events with @matildas in the @wacaus2026 here in Australia in March and the @socceroos in the @fifaworldcup in June and July…it could not be times better to champion Australian football 🇦🇺⚽️

Thank you so much to @alyson_obrien @littlebookpress @raisingliteracyaus for believing in our books and bringing it to life to wonderfully. Aly, you’ve steered us in the right direction and got the best out our team, like all good football coaches would 😂

The 🐐of Australian illustration @jakemintonillustration for taking our idea and absolutely knocking it out of the park! You’re a genius and we’re so lucky to have you as part of the team.

Both myself and @adrianlloyd_author are so thankful to our wives, family, friends and everyone else who has helped us along on this journey. What a wild ride…and lot more crazy ideas to come

Big love xx

Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller has hit No. 1 in ALL books on Amazon Australia!

For our small, non-profit team this is a pretty extraordinary moment.

Thank you to every librarian, educator, bookseller, parent and young reader sharing this story during National Simultaneous Storytime.

We CAN’T WAIT for next week!

I must get ahead of the tabloid news stories 😢

We lost a library book! 😔

I am soooo sorry @cityofsydney and @newtownpubliclibrary

My 4 year old loves the library and we take him most weeks. Sometimes we take more books than we should, you try saying no to him, but we’ve learnt a valuable lesson today.

Sorry again. Please don’t cancel me.

Told him I used to do THIS celebration in my garden as a kid.
He made me prove it.

Are your kids loving the FIFA World Cup??? 🏆⚽

Time to channel this excitement into reading! Australia has never had more football books for kids — and this shelf is proof.

When we recorded the National Simultaneous Storytime read for @sbsondemand and @alianational, we were tasked with curating the ultimate football bookshelf and there’s some world-class books to choose from!
Here are some of the best reads to get them in the game👇

📗 Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller — our official 2026 National Simultaneous Storytime book. Luna Roo overcomes her doubts to inspire her team. The whole outback watching. @adamjacksonbooks @adrianlloyd_author @jakemintonillustration @littlebookpress

📙 Trickshot Harri: The Cheetah World Beater — skills, flair, and a lesson in what the beautiful game is really about. @adamjacksonbooks @adrianlloyd_author @jakemintonillustration @littlebookpress

📘 Ready, Steady, Goal! — the perfect first football book for your littlest fan. @adamjacksonbooks @adrianlloyd_author @3032.fc @littlebookpress

📗 S is for Soccer, F is for Football — ABCs of the beautiful game, brilliantly illustrated. By Emma Kemp @smithstreetbooks

📙 Myra in the Middle — a charming story about football, family, and finding your place. @seethadodd_author @petercheong_ @uqpbooks

📗 Funny Kid: Seriously Soccer — when the world’s game takes over, even the funny kid has to get involved. @itsmattstantonhere @harperkidsau

📘 Uranus FC — the galaxy’s most ridiculous football club. Kids absolutely love this laugh-out-loud graphic novel by the hilarious @whatmicksaw @scholastic_au

📗 Football Fever series — are a brilliant celebration of @matildas and @socceroos stars from the literary mind of @krisddarell @penguinkidsaustralia

📘Joner Football — we just missed having some physical copies of these awesome books by coaching legend @leejonerjones of @jonerfootball We are very excited for these to launch in July 👏👏

The World Cup runs through until 19 July with every game live on @sbs_australia.
The reading starts now. 📖🔥

We cannot believe that we have had nearly 5,000 entries 🫶🤩🤯

We did record a thank you video over the weekend but I messed up and didn’t record the audio 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

We need to spend the time going through all the amazing entries so I re-recorded as a voiceover. I’m pretty sure this what @adrianlloyd_author and @jakemintonillustration said.

Huge thanks for every single entry. I’m afraid we need a bit more time to go through them all and select the winners. We’ve pushed the date back to Friday 12 June.

Thanks again to schools, teachers, parents and every entry 👏👏
