In the wake of the devastating earthquake here in Colombia, I want to make myself available to the organizations and teams responding on the ground.

I’ve worked on editorial assignments for @nytimes and @insider , am a member of @diversifyphoto , and have spent much of my career working in remote environments throughout Latin America (Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador). I have my own professional photo/video equipment and can travel on short notice.

If you work with, or know someone at, an organization responding to the earthquake that could use visual documentation or fundraising/communications support, please share this story with them or connect us directly.

Colombia is my home, and if the skills I have can be useful right now, I’d like to put them to work.

Feel free to DM me here by replying to my post.

A new short episode with @adamonthego is out now!

This is a focused segment from my conversation with Adam Pawlikiewicz Mesa, where he talks about his relationship with ultra running and why he sees endurance sports as a double-edged sword.

Adam shares how running became a way for him to better understand himself and work through things internally, but also how easily expectations and self judgment can creep in when pushing your limits. It’s not a conversation about performance or results, but about listening, awareness, and learning how to stay on the side of endurance that actually supports you rather than works against you.

If you’re drawn to endurance, adventure, or simply curious about how we relate to challenge and effort, this one is worth a listen. And if it resonates, the full conversation dives deeper into many of these same themes.

For a long time, the idea of being an adventurer, a photographer, a filmmaker was an aspirational dream.

In his 20s, @adamonthego tried to make it work in every way he could. Working part-time jobs, pitching ideas constantly, living out of a van, living off the bike, moving between countries, mostly throughout Latin America. From the outside, it’s the kind of life that’s easy to romanticize.

But in this moment of the conversation, Adam talks honestly about how that identity has shifted as he’s moved into his mid 30s. He speaks about craving more stability, and about recognizing that the identity of being an adventurer also comes with real costs. Not as regret, but as clarity.

What stood out to me is how he holds both truths at once. Deep gratitude for the life he’s already lived, and a desire to continue creating in a way that’s more sustainable for the long term. Not abandoning the work, but reshaping it.

First episode of 2026 is out now!

I sat down with Adam Pawlikiewicz Mesa for a wide-ranging conversation about bikepacking, storytelling, endurance, building an intentional life, and charting a creative path. We talked about the early experiences that shaped him, the behind-the-scenes work most people never see, and what it looks like to move away from a consulting career toward something more in line with one’s aspirations.

We also got into Adam’s bicycle trips through Peru and Brazil, how moving slowly creates space for connection, the role of partnership on long journeys, and the double-edged nature of endurance sports. One of the things that stayed with me most was our conversation around expectations and how pushing yourself can be both deeply clarifying and quietly challenging if you’re not paying attention.

If you’re drawn to adventure, creativity, or pivoting paths in life, I think you’ll enjoy it.

In the Huayhuash, the glaciers captivate.

After running the Circuit, the team met up with glaciologist Adrian “Junior” Figueroa to learn more about their importance and their tragic demise. Junior once estimated the Huayhuah’s sister range, the Cordillera Blanca, would lose all glaciers by 2100. As these glaciers melt, the water becomes increasingly acidic and unsafe for communities that rely on it.

From Junior, “We are all part of the same ecosystem. Everything is connected.”

A reminder that our actions matter to wild places, both on the trail and at home. How we show up in wild places matters.

The Reality of Fast-Packing the HuayHuash Circuit:

We set out to document the HuayHuash, convinced that going fast and light was the way to go. Our plan was simple: head out as a group, unsupported, and frolic through the hills—free of worries and cares.

That… was not the reality.

“Fast-packing” the HuayHuash quickly turned into cramming our camera gear into traditional overnight packs and convincing ourselves we were going light. We pushed hard, relying on stubbornness and imagination to keep up our pace and composure.
But for a group of sea-level dwellers suddenly moving at 14,000 to 15,000 feet—and adjusting to the new gut-destroyers hiding in the water—that optimism faded fast.

Still, the HuayHuash delivered beauty in every direction. We curled up with friends over tea, watching the Milky Way sweep across the sky. We watched Quechuan riders mount their horses and gallop into the mountains. And we faced the hard parts too—shivering through feverish nights in freezing valleys, nursing stomach bugs, and making tough calls as we navigated group dynamics and travel.

Amid the pain and the beauty, what stood out most was the team—a hodgepodge of creators, family, and friends, each bringing a different strength and energy to the table.

We’re stoked to share this journey over the next few weeks as we roll out photos and stories exploring the connections forged beneath the towering walls of the Cordillera HuayHuash. Stay tuned.

What does a day of shooting trail running with @Teva and crew in the remote Peruvian backcountry look like?

We spent long days on the ridgelines—running alongside athletes, chasing light over high passes, and finding new ways to capture each stride in rugged terrain.

Out here, it takes more than strong legs to keep up—it takes a crew that’s scrappy, creative, and always ready with a camera. Meet the team:

Brigette — mountain runner and adventure photographer, chasing mountains, motion, and light @brigettetakeuchi 📸

Georgia — the brains behind the project, the beauty in front of the lens, and a talented writer and strategist who kept the story sharp from start to finish @Worldpeach28 🏃🏼‍♀️

Duo Leo and Adam — incredible videographers and storytellers with a knack for endurance sports and the rare talent of filming on the move, stride for stride with the athletes @LeoBrasil.photo @Adamonthego 🎥

Kelsey — our pack mule, model, and quirky crew member who always delivers the perfect offbeat comment at just the right time @Kelsey.rt 🐢

Together, this group brought the miles, the moments, and the mountain energy to life. Tune in over the next month as we share more behind-the-scenes content and insights into telling stories in these beautiful landscapes.

Two friends, four wheels, and one fiery sun. Trans Al-Andalus follows Adam Pawlikiewicz and Leo Brasil on an unforgettable bikepacking journey across Spain.

What was planned as a two-wheeled exploration through the lens of the ancient Al-Andalus Empire, quickly becomes a fight for survival under the beating sun. During Spain’s hottest summer on record, the friends embark on a biking expedition that is as much about cultural immersion and problem-solving as it is about physical effort.
