Today’s focus: Underhand bowling skills in our Pin Knockdown game 🎳🐊

Easton was teamed up with his friend JJ — and they worked GREAT together.

They practiced:
✔️ Body control
✔️ Hand-eye coordination
✔️ Aim and follow-through
✔️ Team communication

You could see the trust.
You could see the encouragement.
You could see the growth.

Each roll built confidence.
Each knockdown built belief.

Easton showed focus, effort, and determination every single round—listening carefully, reacting quickly, and giving his best no matter the challenge. Moments like this remind us that when students are given the right supports and opportunities, they don’t just participate…they thrive.

This is what it’s all about. 💙⚡️

UPDATE: Easton’s Unity Swing is officially installed! 🎉

Easton now has a fully accessible recess experience, giving him the opportunity to swing, play, laugh, and enjoy the playground right alongside his friends. Seeing him on the swing for the first time made every step of this project worth it. 🥹

A HUGE thank you to the Sachem Central Teachers’ Association (SCTA) for the generous $12,000 grant that helped make this possible, and to our administrators and everyone behind the scenes who supported the project and helped turn an idea into reality.

This is what inclusion looks like. Every student deserves the opportunity to PLAY, belong, and THRIVE. 💚

Every student deserves the opportunity to thrive, and Sachem physical education teacher Ray Chopay is helping make that happen through the Adapt Thrive Project.

By designing specialized and modified physical education experiences for students with diverse abilities and needs, Ray is creating an environment where every student can build confidence, develop skills, and experience success.

Guided by the philosophy of “Your Race, Your Pace,” the Adapt Thrive Project celebrates personal growth over competition, empowering students to reach their own goals while fostering self-esteem, resilience, and inclusion.

🎉 BIG NEWS! 🎉

We are incredibly grateful to receive a $1,500 grant from Suffolk Zone AHPERD to support our adapted physical education students.

This funding will help us purchase equipment that creates more opportunities for our students to participate, build confidence, develop skills, and experience success through movement.

A special thank you to Suffolk Zone AHPERD for investing in inclusive physical education and helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.

We would also like to thank Assistant Athletic Director Phil Torregrosa and Sachem Athletics for their continued support of our adapted PE program and our students. Your commitment to inclusion helps make opportunities like this possible.

Together, we are creating a school community where every student has the chance to thrive.

We’re excited to share that we have secured a $12,000 grant for Easton’s Wheelchair-Accessible Playground! ♿️💙

This grant is the first major step toward making this dream a reality and creating a space where all children can play, connect, and thrive together.

A heartfelt thank you to the SCTA and everyone who has supported this mission. Your belief in inclusion is helping us move one step closer to a playground built for every child.
