Every student deserves the opportunity to thrive, and Sachem physical education teacher Ray Chopay is helping make that happen through the Adapt Thrive Project.

By designing specialized and modified physical education experiences for students with diverse abilities and needs, Ray is creating an environment where every student can build confidence, develop skills, and experience success.

Guided by the philosophy of “Your Race, Your Pace,” the Adapt Thrive Project celebrates personal growth over competition, empowering students to reach their own goals while fostering self-esteem, resilience, and inclusion.

Thank you, Mr. Chopay, for inspiring our students and reminding us that success looks different for everyone, and every achievement is worth celebrating!

The 2026 Fit Club competition couldn’t have went better yesterday with over 30 teams in Suffolk County completing for top 10. Congratulations to all of the athletes on working their hardest, doing their best, and having fun!!!

Exciting race at NYS T&F championship meet! The girls intersectional relay is composed of a relay race with 1000m-200m-600m-1600m legs. @sectxisuffolk took 1st place today with one of the best running squads in Suffolk county to win it all! Happy Holidays from your favorite PE crew! This week and last week was all about THE GRINCH GAME! “Whoville strikes back!”

Who’s have to try to scooter across without getting tagged by the grinch. Go through Mt. Crumpit and steal back a present that the Grinch stole from them!

This is always a fan favorite in our gym! Students come up to us DAY 1 of the school year to ask if we’re going to the the grinch game this year 💚
