Dear Affairers “A”,
This is my personal letter to you. I would like to say biggggg hugggeeeee thank you!!!! I am so Thrilled! Honoured! Grateful! Proud! Followed with tears of Joy! (No joking I was crying well a bit :) that we mentioned by @goodfoodau in their Sandwich Watch. This is my biggest achievement in my professional hospitality, well, I just need to wait 15 years 😎 its nothing right ?! Ada had entered chatroom 🐓 game…..
Inspired from Caesar Salad combination, with our Indonesian 🇮🇩 twist we would like to present The Sultan, Sultan mean King or Caesar. The key elements here is the sauce and crumbs. The combination with scrambled egg, Halal Chicken Schnitzel , Gruyere tasty cheese, smokey white cabbage.”

A Taste of Indonesia, Reimagined for Brunch

We came across this Indonesian-fusion brunch spot in Glebe with no particular expectations, and somehow, every dish we ordered ended up surprising us.

The Babi Guling Focaccia ($23) was the first thing that caught our attention. It’s one of their popular dishes, and after trying it, we understood why. The familiar flavours of babi guling meet soft, beautifully baked focaccia, creating something that feels both nostalgic and entirely new.

Next was the Soto Ayam Focaccia ($23), perhaps the most unexpected combination of the morning. Soto ayam is transformed into a brunch dish, but somehow all the comforting flavours still come through. Unique, warm and genuinely delicious.

Then came the Klepon Lamington, which quickly became our favourite sweet. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up getting more to take home, always a good sign.

For something warm, we tried the STMJ ($6), a traditional Indonesian drink made with milk, egg, honey and ginger. Rich, comforting and fragrant, it felt almost like a little cup of nostalgia.

And to finish, a Hot Matcha Latte ($6.50), creamy, earthy and the perfect companion to the morning.

What surprised us most wasn’t just the creativity of the menu, but how well everything came together. Indonesian flavours we already know and love, presented in ways we hadn’t expected, yet somehow still feeling familiar.

A lovely little discovery in Glebe, and one we’d happily return to.

Thank you is not enough…. Apologize also not enough…. Surprised is not enough… Thrilled not enough…… Blessed is what I would like to emphasize here. Started with enormous RSVP from friends, local, regulars, neighbourhood, and more new faces - the community 💙🤍 then hows the 🌧️ being held until midnight to make sure the crowd was not impacted. But the most important is your heart 💙🤍 for being patience it just amazing, and we received big big big positive feedback for our Daun Teishoku just made our heart melt!! Well there was hiccup we will not gonna deny it but the constructive feedback was so great!!!! Big shout to Aa team and 2 additional you know who 😀 OuiChef! Thank you neighbour Sushi Gen for being able to rent space to share our theme ExploreTheFlavour!
Not being greedy but Here we go….. we would like to share this as we believe SECOND chances! The Redemption! It will be decided SOON for date!
Let’s go DAUN Teishoku will be BACK! Better and Smoother 😉
