Today we’re celebrating two very special milestones: 2 years in foster and Ada’s 9th birthday. 🎂💖✨

Somehow, these last two years have flown by and lasted forever all at once.

Over the last 730 days, Ada has filled our hearts with laughter, love, and enough memories to last a lifetime. She has taught us so much about patience, resilience, and living in the moment.

Watching her grow, heal, trust, and thrive has been one of the greatest privileges. 🫶

While we still dream of the day she finds her perfect happily ever after- we’re incredibly grateful for every day we’ve shared with this special girl and for the joy she’s brought into our lives. 💖

Yesterday, Miss Ada had her first therapy swim session at @aquatherapups and she had a blast! 💦🐾

Swimming is such a great low-impact way for dogs to exercise, build and tone muscle, improve mobility, and work on conditioning without putting the same stress on their joints. 🤍

A huge thank you to Aqua Therapups for welcoming adoptable Ada in and making her first swim such a fun experience! We’re already looking forward to our next session! 💦🐾

This is why I strength train. 💪🏼

Not for the aesthetics…
not for the PRs…

…but so I can carry my 50-ish pound foster dog up the stairs when she decides her legs no longer work. 😂🐾

And a friendly reminder: don’t get the puppy unless you’re prepared to properly care for the senior. ❤️

Meet Ada! This sweet girl has been in foster with @winstonswishes for 776 days (that's a little over 2 years) waiting for her forever family.

Ada is 8 years old, about 50 pounds, and an absolute sweetheart — loyal, affectionate, spunky, and gentle. Her foster calls her "Ada Beans" and "Adalaide," and honestly, both fit. She loves car rides, sniff walks, sunshine naps, and she is VERY food motivated (popcorn, watermelon, pumpkin, pupsicles, and Mumbies Yummies Bison Liver Treats are her top picks).

Ada is housebroken, has great indoor manners, and loves people of all ages. She's crate trained but prefers to free roam next to her people.

A few things her foster wants potential families to know: Ada does best as an only dog — she loves to steal all your attention and be the center of the world, and trust us, she's worth it! She's also on an idiopathic anemia health journey — she received a life-saving blood transfusion in February 2025 and requires frequent blood draws to keep her blood cell counts stable, along with an immunosuppressant medication every other day. Supporting her with proper nutrition, diet, and lifestyle goes a long way. And because of her dog reactivity, a fenced-in yard is strongly recommended.

Winston's Wishes and Ada's foster family would love nothing more than to stay part of her story after adoption — visitation rights would mean the world to them.
