Ironman Swansea - 70.3 has never really been my thing. I've always gravitated towards shorter racing, and every previous half has been a bit of a whim.
.
This was the first time I committed to the distance and the process. I leaned into it... and absolutely loved every minute of it. The Welsh really can put on a show! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
.
5th in my age group, 28th overall at an @ironman pro series race and one of the best race experiences I've had. Importantly, it also showed me there's still so much to work on.
.
With Amy and Darcie out on course and at the finish made the day even more special. The support means more than any result ❤️❤️❤️
.
This feels like the start of something new, and I'm excited about the journey.

It doesn't always feel good.

Dambuster Triathlon this weekend. Poor swim, humid conditions and one of those days where the body never really showed up.

Surprisingly still managed 4th overall and 3rd in age group from 571 starters.

Sometimes you just need to dig in and find a way to get on with it.

Good confidence builder yesterday at the Box End Park middle distance.

Probably my most comfortable open water swim yet coming out in the lead pack, followed by a strong bike (285w NP) despite discovering early the front tyre had lost most of it's pressure - into T2 in the mix.

Felt good heading out onto the run in the heat and was moving well with the race lead, but made the call to stop when the hip started niggling again given the uneven grass sections. Frustrating, but the right call with goals ahead.

Came away with confidence.

Now onto getting the hip 100% ahead of Swansea 70.3.

Dorney Duathlon - April 26

Nearly under 1:50 now for standard distance ✅

Bike changes starting to click – steady ~300W/41kph and actually ran pretty well off it.

Running coming round at the right time.

Happy with a close 2nd to @milesbyollie – that run was class.

Rolling into May now.

Darcie turned one on Saturday ❤️ - it's gone so quick!
Sunday morning, I raced at Dorney and managed to take the win 🥇
Sunday afternoon, we had to unexpectedly say goodbye to our Betsy 🐾

2026 Warwick Half Marathon - had a rough patch around 17/18k, then the sub-77 goal slipped away, staggering over the line in a heap at 1:17:16
.
Otherwise, happy with a new PB over a hilly course 🎉 and giving all I had 🥵

2026 build continues 🧱
