We keep things small on purpose. Fewer dogs means more individual attention, familiar routines, plenty of couch time, and the chance to actually get to know the dogs in our care.

Whether your dog is outgoing, a little anxious, particular about their routine, or just happiest curled up next to someone, we want their stay to feel as comfortable and familiar as possible.

Oof this one is gonna hurt a little 😮‍💨

Juno is officially ready for adoption!!

My chest is literally tightening as I type this. Anyone that fosters dogs knows this feeling is inevitable but every time I still get that bittersweet feeling knowing how special it is to be part of the journey but not the end goal ❤️

But enough about my feelings!!!! Let’s talk about Junie Bear 🐻:
- sweetest, kissiest, most gentle soul
- will require a doggie companion. It is essential to her continued progress of coming out of her little timid shell 🥹
-The best leash walker EVER
-60% sleepy girl 40% wants to playyyyy
-extremely soft fur (she showed up like this lol I did nothing to make it that way)
- crate trained (in fact she loves her little “house”)
- potty trained queen 💅
-not a big barker, maybe like once a week I’ll hear a woof

If you have followed Juno’s journey from county shelter to now you know how far she has come and that she’s a really special girl. She will need a patient adopter that is willing to earn her trust and understands she takes time to warm up.

Figured I should probably introduce myself since you’re trusting me with your dogs 😂

I’m Addie! I’m originally from South Carolina and grew up in a house with a revolving door of dogs thanks to my mom being involved in rescue. Apparently that gene is genetic because I’ve spent the last 10+ years fostering more dogs than I can count.

I’ve only had two true foster fails, my soul dog Winnie, who’s now in heaven 🤍, and Tilly, who obviously went on to get an entire company named after her.

I’m the girliest of girlie girls in basically every other area of my life, but give me a muddy dog and suddenly I don’t mind a little dirt.

Tilly & Co. is really just me turning something I’ve been doing forever into a business = taking care of dogs and treating them like they’re my own.

Four months ago, Juno was a scared girl who had been living in the shelter for several months. Today, she’s happy, playful, affectionate, and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. ❤️

She’s come so far, but the best part of her story is still ahead of her: finding a family of her very own.

Juno is available for adoption in Charlotte, NC! She needs a patient, loving home with another dog to help show her the ropes.

Why fostering is actually the best hobby ever:

1. It gives you a purpose outside of work/life/general chaos. You’re responsible for helping this little creature feel safe and figure life out.

2. You get all the fun of having another dog without signing up for 10+ years of another dog lol.

3. Watching a scared or shut-down dog start to trust you is genuinely one of the best feelings ever.

4. It gets you out of your own head. You have something else to focus on, care for, laugh at and inevitably become way too emotionally attached to.

5. And then somehow the saddest part is also the best part. You cry when they leave, miss them like crazy, and then get to remember that the whole reason you did it was so they could go have a life of their own.

A word from Juno’s foster mom: she’s perfect!!! ❤️

I know I will inevitably get asked why I’m not adopting Juno. She’s bonded with me and my dogs, she finally trusts me, and of course I love her. But the simplest answer is: I don’t want a third dog full time.

I want to be able to save as many dogs as possible. That has always been my goal and continues to be the reason I volunteer in animal rescue and foster.

Will I cry when she gets adopted? Absolutely. My last foster dog Olive’s parents can speak to the absolute sob fest I had in their kitchen when I said goodbye 💀❤️

But a few days (or sometimes weeks…oops) of missing a foster doesn’t change the bigger picture. The goal is to help them feel safe, loved, and ready for their own family — and then make room to do it all over again. Even when their absence makes the house feel more than a little empty for a little while.

And that’s on me not being allowed to go to run club at the animal shelter anymore 💅

On June 7th, I went to the Toomey location run club to walk some dogs and spend a morning outside of the house. By the time I got there, most of the dogs had already been walked, so I was waiting for a volunteer to bring me one that just wanted to hang out.

Then Juno walked out. She wouldn’t let anyone touch her and was very clearly terrified. I didn’t think too hard about it before saying I could take her home for a week or so to get her out of the shelter.

And we all know how that ended up lol.

Juno has taught me A LOT of patience. I can admit now that she was semi feral, or at least pretty damn close to it. But watching her slowly come out of her shell has been really special, and whoever decides to adopt her is getting the sweetest, gentlest, silliest little girl.

It feels fitting that Juno received her final heartworm treatment today. She is absolutely miserable, but she’s officially one step closer to leaving her old life behind.

Unless she decides to take herself on another daycation to the woods. In which case just sedate me thx.
