Ever make a mistake and then completely spiral for the rest of the game?

You know what I’m talking about. That one bad touch, that turnover, that missed opportunity... and suddenly your whole game falls apart. 😫

Here’s the thing: that mistake doesn’t get to control your next play. YOU do. 💪🏽

But your brain doesn’t want to hear that, right? Your brain wants to replay it. Analyze it. Beat yourself up about it. It wants to make sure you REALLY understand how bad that was.

The fastest way out of that spiral? Don’t think your way out. PLAY your way out.

Make one clean, easy play. ⚽️
A simple pass. A good first touch.

Why? Because giving yourself INSTRUCTIONS & focusing on CONTROLLABLES moves your brain past the mistake and gets you back into the game. One positive action leads to another. And another. That’s how confidence gets rebuilt - not by telling yourself to “just be confident,” but by DOING something that reminds your body and brain: I’ve got this. 🔥

This is what elite players do. They don’t dwell on the mistake, they don’t let it rent space in their head for the next 20 minutes. They reset FAST. They find something simple, execute it well, and build momentum from there.

Your next play is always a choice. The mistake is done.

Welcome @addy_weichers! Coach Addy is joining Expand Your Game as a mentor and coach in the Mindset Mastery Academy!

🔥 Addy currently plays for Halifax Tides FC in the Canadian Northern Super League (NSL)

🔥 She played collegiately at Utah State University where she was a 3 year captain

🔥 Addison played 3 years for the USL W League team Minnesota Aurora FC

🔥 During her freshman year of college, Addy tore her ACL while at the same time experiencing a coaching change. She has direct, lived experience of navigating adversity and facing big setbacks, which has left her with a profound understanding of the importance of mental skills work

🔥 When working with youth, Addy’s goal is to help them build a foundation of true, deep self-belief because she knows that they will do their best when they have both confidence in themselves and joy in what they are doing.
