The Lord decided to bring my grandpa home on Monday, September 21st. He had a mini stroke and brain bleed on August 4th and had been fighting ever since. No matter how much you think you’re prepared for what could happen, or even what you know is likely to happen, you’re never truly prepared for the heartbreak of losing someone you love.

Grandpa, I’m so incredibly thankful for you and for all the love you gave me and my kids. More than anything, I’m so grateful they got the chance to know you, love you, and be loved by you.

As sad as I am that you won’t be here for the rest of my life, I sure am glad I was there for the rest of yours.

I keep wondering who’s going to call me at 6 a.m. on my birthday just to make sure they’re the first one to wish me a happy birthday. But somehow, I know you’ll still find a way to tell me.

Don’t worry about Grandma. We’ll take care of her.

I love you and miss you more than I can put into words, Grandpa. I know I’ll see you again someday. Until then, give us little signs that you’re still with us. I love you. by @adee.akers

July 3rd, 6am starting at Lake Ming, finishing at Buena Vista Lake (BV). Flag relay 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 come help me carry mine or bring your own. This a NOT a race it is a fun run. We want runners of all paces involved! There are multiple access points where you can meet up with us on the bike trails. Come run 1 mile or all 35!
