POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
For years, I repeated to myself, “This can’t be my life. Why is this happening to me?”

I spent my whole childhood searching for belonging, and a decade in a soul-crushing marriage where I completely lost my sense of self and reality. Then the secrets came out, and my whole life fell apart.

So I rebuilt it from the inside out. 🤍

Hi, I’m Adele 👋🏼
Somatic Practitioner. Hypnocounselor. Conscious Parenting + Life Coach. Business Coach. Author in the making.

I help women, entrepreneurs and leaders rewire the patterns they inherited, so they can build the life and business they desire and create the impact they’re here to make.

Your past isn’t just a memory. It’s programming.
It lives in your subconscious and nervous system, and it shows up everywhere.

You’re either coming from your Invisible CEO, the old survival patterns running on autopilot, or from your CEO Self, the regulated, self-led you underneath the conditioning.

I see it in my clients: in their parenting, their relationships, their businesses, and how they show up on a team, whether they’re leading it or part of it.

That’s why talking about it isn’t enough.

My work goes to the root, through somatic healing, hypnosis, nervous system regulation, and inner child and parts work, so you can rewrite your story and lead your life, and your team, from regulation, not reaction.

✨ Ways to work with me ✨
→ 1:1 + group coaching
→ Keynotes, workshops + group facilitation

You know what a trigger is. Do you know its opposite?

It’s called a glimmer, a term coined by therapist and author Deb Dana. Glimmers are small moments of joy, ease, or connection that tell your nervous system you’re safe right now. ✨

Here’s why most of us miss them: your brain has a built-in negativity bias. It’s wired to catch danger fast and hold onto it, while the good moments pass right by.

Meanwhile, your nervous system is scanning for cues of safety or danger all day, below your awareness (what researchers call neuroception). Glimmers are the safety cues it’s quietly looking for. The more you notice them, the easier they get to find.

Try this daily:
🩵 Notice a glimmer when it shows up.
🩵 Pause for 10 seconds. Don’t rush past it.
🩵 Feel where it lands in your body.
🩵 Let it fill you with awe, gratitude, peace, presence, or whatever positive emotion feels natural.
🩵 Stay a breath longer than feels normal.

Healing isn’t only about calming your triggers. It’s also about teaching your body that safety exists, too.

Think back on today: what made your body soften, even for a second? Comment your favorite glimmer below 👇 by @adeleouyang

Being told you have low self-esteem is a bit like being told you’re tired. True? Yes. Helpful? Not really. 🙃

What I needed back then wasn’t a label. I needed to understand why I felt this way, and why knowing it in my head never changed how I felt in my body.

What we never talked about was the cause: my parents, and my husband at the time, were emotionally abusive to me. My past and my current relationships were shaping how I saw myself, and those dynamics were creating my symptoms. She never helped me spot the pattern, let alone shift it.

Low self-esteem is a symptom. The root is usually something your nervous system learned early: that love was conditional, that mistakes weren’t safe, that your needs were “too much.” Parts of you stepped in to protect you by shrinking, pleasing or perfecting, and they’re still doing their job.

That’s the work inside The Somatic Self-Worth Blueprint:
→ Understand your nervous system and why being yourself started to feel unsafe
→ Use gentle somatic practices so worth becomes something you feel
→ Get to know your inner child wounds around self-worth

Today is World Mental Health Day! For a long time, the part of my experience no one heard, including me, was what my body was saying.

Meet the vagus nerve. It connects your brain to your heart, lungs and gut, and around 80% of its fibers carry messages up, from body to brain. Your body is constantly telling your brain whether you’re safe.

That’s why you can know you’re safe and still not feel it. And it’s why changing your mindset takes more than your mind. So much of how you think and react runs below conscious thought. Your body is the way in.

Swipe to the last slide for three ways to give your body a new signal today: a longer exhale, the physiological sigh, and a self-hug. by @adeleouyang

He never hit me. So for years, I didn’t have a word for what was happening.

There was no bruise to point to.

Every one of those had a “good” version, and that’s the version everyone saw. It’s the version I told myself, too.

What I know now: abuse doesn’t have to leave a mark to rewire your nervous system. Your body keeps track of what your mind explains away.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This month I’m telling the parts that don’t leave marks, because those are the parts that keep people stuck.

If you saw yourself in any of these slides, you can stop questioning yourself. What you lived was real, and you can heal from it.

National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788. Free, confidential, 24/7.

Share this post to the person who keeps saying “but he never hit me.”

What I offer:
I offer one-to-one coaching to help you trust yourself again and heal what your body is still holding. You never have to tell your story, because we work with your nervous system and your body. I keep sliding-scale spots open; message me “ready” to ask.

For leaders: I work with leaders and teams who want a workplace that is inclusive and sensitive to the things employees don’t say out loud. I’ll help you bring a trauma-informed lens to your culture. Message me “workplace” to start. by @adeleouyang

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We don’t often connect it to leadership and company culture, but we should.

Nearly 20 people per minute experience intimate-partner abuse in the U.S. Statistically, it’s affecting someone on your team right now.

Too often, we put the work on the survivor: heal, adjust, show up like nothing happened. We’ve started asking a better question in other conversations. Instead of only teaching people how to avoid harm, we’re asking how to stop it upstream. The workplace deserves the same shift. Instead of expecting survivors to fit back into our cultures, what if our cultures were built to hold them?

That’s what I help organizations do: team workshops, leadership trainings, and one-to-one coaching with a trauma-informed lens. by @adeleouyang

⚠️ Trigger Warning: sexual assault, abuse

Headlines around the Cornell 7 bring up a lot for survivors, and two questions keep surfacing: Why don’t people speak up? And if they do, will they be protected?

Here’s what I’ve seen in my own journey and in the people I support. After trauma, the mind often protects itself with denial. Then shame moves in, and every part of you wants to hide. When you finally reach out for help, you’re often met with questions that sound like blame: “Are you sure?” “Why didn’t you leave or fight back?” “What happened before that?” “Was that his intention?”

So your body does what it’s wired to do. It freezes. You don’t know what to say or how to say it. And because belonging is survival, you make yourself smaller to keep your place in your family, your friend group, your community, your workplace.

That’s your Invisible CEO at work: a protective pattern trading your truth for your safety.

Then years later, maybe something shifts. You have more safety, more support, more capacity. The words come, and the fight comes with them.

That isn’t too late. That’s healing on your body’s timeline.

If you’ve experienced this or are experiencing this protective pattern, you are not alone. 🙋🏻‍♀️ by @adeleouyang

Being conscious is great. But awareness after the fact isn’t the same as catching it in real time.

You can know you spiral when you’re ignored. You can know you shrink around certain people. You can know your reaction was “too much.” And still — none of that knowing stops you in the moment. The real work isn’t in the knowing. It’s in the gap. That two-second window between trigger and reaction, where your Invisible CEO hasn’t taken over yet and you still have a choice. That gap is where everything changes.

Here’s how to actually catch it:

1. Notice the pause — feel the 2-second gap between trigger and response
2. Name the pattern — “this is my ______ part,” not “I’m broken”
3. Track body first, story second — clenched jaw, tight chest = data
4. Ask “whose voice is this?” — yours, or an inherited script?
5. Notice who you become around certain people — confident with friends, small around a parent? That’s an old survival role
6. Regulate before you decide — a dysregulated system can’t make a CEO Self choice
7. Reparent the reaction — what would you say to a scared kid feeling this?
8. Choose response over reflex — consciousness is the space where choice lives
9. Track your triggers daily — patterns repeat until they’re witnessed
10. Come back to the body daily — this is a practice, not a personality trait

Your triggers are showing you who’s driving.

Every day, you’re operating from one of two places: your Wounded Self (the protective patterns you built to survive) or your Higher Self (the regulated, intentional you underneath, the versions of you beyond your conditioning)

Here’s how to spot the difference:

Wounded Self shows up as:
→ Over-explaining yourself
→ Saying yes when your body says no
→ Needing to control the outcome
→ Numbing out instead of feeling it
→ Avoiding the damn thing
→ Snapping at your kids or co-worker
→ Projecting your past onto the present

Higher Self shows up as:
→ Speaking once, clearly
→ Honoring your no without guilt
→ Trusting the process
→ Feeling it, then choosing your response
→ Leading yourself and others with love, compassion and alignment

The wounded self isn’t a flaw. It’s a pattern that once kept you safe — and it’s ready to be rewired.

Ask yourself throughout the day: Am I coming from my wounded self or my higher self? Who am I choosing to be? And how can I make it better?

Comment “Trigger” and I’ll send you my free Conscious Trigger Workbook to help you access your higher self even when you’re triggered! 💥 taken in Jersey City, New Jersey by @adeleouyang
