I can’t believe I’ve been part of @blacknanimated leadership for a year! 🖤

Back in 2024, I attended the first Career Summit as a member looking to make genuine connections and find opportunities in the animation industry. It’s such a full-circle moment to now be on the other side, helping create opportunities for my beautiful community. I’m so grateful!

Around this time last year, I had the opportunity to work as a Production Assistant on Kirk Franklin’s podcast, Den of Kings. I had such a wonderful experience on set, assisting talent such as comedians Deon Cole and KevOnStage; rappers and musicians Snoop Dogg, Ray J, NLE Choppa, and The Game; actor Jonathan Majors; former NBA player Matt Barnes; radio personality Big Boy; physician and author Dr. Jay Barnett; and many more.

Most of all, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do it alongside my good friend, @shanaxbanana. It was an experience I’ll always appreciate and remember. taken in Los Angeles, California by @adeola.ayedun

Checking in 👀 on illustrator and SCAD alum Adéọla Ayedun (B.F.A., illustration, 2023).

Since graduating from SCAD, Adéọla has freelanced with independent studios and taught art classes through the non-profit Create Now (@createnowarts). Today, she also serves as Art Director for Hoodlin Mania (@hoodlinmania), Media Coordinator at Black-n-Animated (@blacknanimated), and most recently joined the upcoming "Family Guy" spinoff "Stewie" as an Executive Assistant.

The work doesn't stop there! Through Hoodlin Mania, Adéọla contributed to Mind Control by creating a billboard displayed along L.A.'s Interstate 10, as well as a 6-foot by 4-foot wooden installation promoting the show — From a giant billboard to one of television's smallest leading characters, "Stewie," Adéọla's creative impact continues to grow.

Looking back, Adéọla feels gratitude for every opportunity presented since graduating, crediting her family, friends, mentors, and SCAD professors for helping shape her creative journey. Here's to what's next! 🐝 💛 by @adeola.ayedun

Grateful for the opportunity to serve as a panelist for the Minds Matter Social Career Incubator at USC Hybrid High School Prep, speaking on Creative Careers: Art, Animation & Graphic Design.

It was an honor to join fellow industry professionals Thomas Brillante, Sean Flinn, and Shawn Borsky to share our experiences and offer insight into navigating creative careers.

During the discussion, I reflected on my journey from studying Visual Development in college to working in the animation industry today. I spoke about the importance of embracing every stage of the journey, building genuine relationships through networking, seeking mentorship, creating your own opportunities, and remembering that there isn’t just one path to success in the creative industry.

I want to thank @freshest.produce for recommending me for this opportunity after seeing my work at the @hoodlinmania Mind Control event.

And thank you to @mindsmattersocal and @uschybridhighcollegeprep for creating a space where students can learn directly from professionals across the creative industry. It was a privilege to be part of such an inspiring conversation.

I’ve been biting my tongue for a cute second, but I’m excited to finally announce that I’ve joined Stewie, the upcoming Family Guy spinoff series, as an Executive Assistant to the Producers and Supervising Directors.

I’m incredibly grateful for my support system throughout this process, @roxinrox, @true_talk_advisors, and @myrickron2018

From concept to completion, this project challenged me to think beyond my usual approach.

I created a 6ft x 4ft wood installation by cutting, sanding, painting, and assembling 20 individual pieces into a cohesive final body of work.

Experiences like this continue to shape how I approach art and storytelling, both on and off the screen. 🛸 by @adeola.ayedun

Hoodlin characters are cute, chaotic, mischievous, and slightly unhinged but most of all, they’re punching with colorful saturation. For this piece, my goal was to bring these elements together while staying on theme with Mind Control.

I’m grateful to everyone who congratulated, supported, and came out to @hoodlinmania Mind Control, April 10–12!

I’m especially proud of our @bigfooters team for executing such a dynamic and immersive experience celebrating the launch of our card game Hoodlin Rumble, our animatic Ratchet Raychel, our mobile app game Hoodlin Lockdown, and more.

I’ve been working with @bigfooters for the better part of a year and, since late last year, have stepped into an Art Director role. For Mind Control, I not only helped art direct the mobile application game, but also created a 6ft x 4ft wood installation piece modeled after a Hoodlin character, and designed a billboard featured along highway I-10 in Downtown Los Angeles.

Working with such an incredible team and seeing these projects evolve from concept into physical and public spaces has been a meaningful milestone. Looking forward to continuing to build and create. 🛸 by @adeola.ayedun

I’m excited to share that I’m part of Mind Control, an immersive art experience happening April 10–12 at LINT in Downtown Los Angeles.
