A little late sharing this one! I got busy with the World Championships in Baku 🇦🇿, but I couldn’t leave this experience without a post.

We had an amazing time on the mat, working on gripping, movement, timing, and the details that make judo effective. Great energy, good vibes , and a lot of knowledge shared between judokas.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this seminar a success! 🙏

This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for Part 2! 🔥🥋

There’s a lot behind this smile. Some good, some heavy. All part of becoming great. Progress isn’t loud.

It’s really rare for me to get emotional, but I’ve gotten emotional in the U.S. only twice.
The first time was when I quit my first coaching job. The kids were crying because I was leaving, and I couldn’t hold myself together.
The second time was when many of these kids earned their black belts at Griffin Judo.
These kids, their families, and the black belt team believed in me and never left me alone on this journey. They were there when I quit my first job and left with me. They were there when I had no money and when my first child was born—they helped me with everything. They were there when I started Griffin Judo. They were there during COVID. They were there when I was struggling and didn’t know if I could make it in the U.S. They were there building Griffin Judo.
I owe everything I have to them. They think I helped shape them into the young adults they are now, but the truth is—they shaped me. They are the reason I am who I am. They are the reason Griffin Judo still exists.
I got emotional because I couldn’t find the words to thank them for everything they’ve done for me. Not only them, but also the new kids and families who have joined Griffin over the last few years—I will always be loyal to you the way you were loyal to me. No matter what happens in the future, you will always have a place in my life and in my heart.
I’m not only thankful for the kids—I’m truly grateful for the parents who supported me and the dojo. I’m also grateful for the black belts who always helped me and gave everything they had, and especially my partners, Jonathan and Cody, for everything, and for being the best brothers I could ever ask for.
Ivan Sensei, I can’t thank you enough—you were all in since day one.
Neil Sensei, thank you for all the help you’ve given me and my family.
And Abdelrahman, my brother and best friend since childhood, thank you for always having my back in the hard times before the good.
At this last belt promotion, I finally saw our success and the hard work we’ve all put in over the last six years.
I came from Egypt with nothing. And with the help and love of these people, we now have the Griffin Judo family. I’m beyond thankful and grateful 🖤🥋 taken in Griffin Performance Judo by @adhamramadan__
