Two months ago, I came across a video that I couldn’t stop thinking about.

A young girl was being married off, and all I could ask myself was: Does she even know what’s happening?

That moment became the seed for BEFORE THE VEIL.

Rather than tell people what to think, I wanted to place the audience in the victim’s position—to experience what it feels like when decisions about your life are made without your voice.

Every symbol, every silence, every frame was intentional.

I was warned against making this film. I was told it could affect my career because some conversations are uncomfortable. I was scared too. But I believe stories should start conversations that matter.

BEFORE THE VEIL follows a young girl whose dream of becoming an air hostess is cut short when she’s forced into marriage.

This is one of my most personal films yet, and I’m deeply grateful to every single person who believed in the vision and helped bring it to life.

For the first time ever, Before the Veil will be screened privately in an intimate room filled with filmmakers, creatives, storytellers, and lovers of cinema.

This isn’t just a film screening,
it’s an experience.

We’ll watch the film together, unpack the story behind it, dive into a live Q&A, connect with other creatives, and have honest conversations about the themes the film explores: choice, tradition, identity, and freedom.

The campaign for this project is taking a different turn.

Unlike my previous films, this isn’t just about making another film. When I first pitched Before the Veil on my Instagram story, the goal wasn’t simply to shoot a movie. It was to use my medium of communication—film—to start a conversation many people choose to ignore.

A conversation about what it feels like to be the victim of decisions made without your consent. A conversation about having your dreams taken away before you even have the chance to pursue them.

The conversation is about to get real.

It’s one thing as a director to have a vision. It’s another to have a team that’s willing to trust it, collaborate, and make that vision easier to bring to life.

I’m incredibly grateful to every single member of the cast and crew of Before the Veil. This film wouldn’t exist the way it does without all of you.

Yes, we shot Before the Veil entirely on an iPhone.

That was a very intentional decision.

I wanted the film to feel natural. I didn’t want it to look overly “filmy” or feel like a heavily lit set. I could have brought in bigger lights and more gear, but that would have taken the story in a different visual direction. I wanted every room, every frame, and every moment to feel like something happening right now—something real, something familiar.

The iPhone gave us that intimacy, especially in low light, without needing to overwhelm the space with equipment.

When I explained this vision to my team, they trusted it completely. That trust is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’ll share the full story someday about how we pulled everyone together to make this happen.

Before the Veil is proof that some stories shouldn’t have to wait for the biggest budget or the most expensive equipment. The message is the core. The conversation is what matters most.

And that’s exactly why we made this film.

Having to bring together different talents and creatives who are all A’s in their respective fields on a film project that started as just a piece in my head is something I’ll never take for granted.

From creating a full pitch deck to pitching the film on my Instagram Story, everyone here was either carefully selected for a reason or reached out because they believed in the vision just as much as I did.

I don’t take any of this for granted. It means so much to me, and it makes even more sense knowing that we have people who are willing to use their gifts to speak up on an issue that’s rarely talked about.

When I first had the vision for this film, this was exactly how I saw it.

I was in my studio, looked through the curtain, and imagined I was the victim..looking toward the living room and watching this exact scene replay. It’s amazing how a great film starts from the smallest vision and grows into something real.

For this project, I’m grateful to have worked with the amazing @_dstoryteller . The official introduction video is coming soon.

I can’t wait to share Before the Veil and start a conversation about something that isn’t spoken about nearly enough.
