This is Biyaya. Since we began in 2022, we have rescued thousands of dogs and cats and provided vital medical care through our hospital and clinics. Every day, our sanctuary and Pawshoppe work together to create lasting change for animals across the Philippines.

We are more than a shelter. We are a movement spreading awareness, education, and compassion to communities nationwide.

Cinnamon has spent quite some time waiting at the sanctuary. Behind her big, intimidating appearance is a gentle girl who loves belly rubs, cuddles, and being close to her humans.

She’s ready for a home. The only thing missing is someone willing to give her a chance.

I know I’m not the easiest dog.

I’m part Husky, which means I have a lot of feelings, a lot of energy, and, apparently, a lot to say. I howl. A lot.

And I know that can be difficult for some people.

For a while, I think everyone was a little worried about whether the right person would ever come along for me. I had already been returned once, and I kept being offered for adoption.

But maybe I didn’t need just anyone to take me home.

Maybe I needed someone who understood me.

Someone who knew what it was like to live with a Husky. Someone who wouldn’t expect me to be quiet or perfectly behaved just because I had finally found a home. Someone who would give me time to settle in and figure things out.

I think I finally found that person.

So if you’re thinking about adopting, I hope you remember that dogs like me aren’t looking for someone who thinks we’re perfect.

We’re looking for someone who knows what they’re signing up for, sees us for who we are, and is willing to stay.

Because being chosen is nice.

But being understood is everything.

John Michael was rescued on June 19, 2026, from Cubao, along with more than 20 other puppies. Today, he’s ready to find a family who will love him and give him a home where he can grow up feeling safe and cared for.

My name is Miguel, and for almost two years,
I waited to be someone’s dog.

I was rescued in Quezon City on November 9, 2024. The sanctuary became my safe place. I was cared for and loved, but I was still waiting for a family to come for me.

As I grew older, I wondered if someone would choose me.

A younger dog might have more years to give. Would someone still want the years I had left?

Then you came, Mom. To my fur mom, @hasna.maniana .maniana, thank you for opening your heart again after losing a dog you loved. I know that saying yes to me meant allowing yourself to love, and someday hurt, again.

You saw my age and chose me anyway.

Now, I have a home. A place to take my long naps, a family to wake up to, and someone who calls me hers. After all that waiting, I get to spend my senior years with you.

I don’t know how many years we’ll have together, Mom.
But I’m so happy I get to spend them being your dog.

To anyone thinking about adopting, I hope you’ll give an older dog a chance. We still have so much love to give, and so many little moments left to share with you.

Meet Summer Girl, our very own sunshine! 🐾

For those dreaming of having a golden-looking dog, Summer Girl might just be the one for you!

She’s been staying at our sanctuary for quite a while now, and we’re hoping it’s finally her turn to experience life with a family of her own.

I don’t know exactly how I ended up without a home, but I do know that someone found me and gave me a chance.

And somehow, I ended up finding my family through someone who was already spending his days caring for animals like me. One of Biyaya’s own caretakers decided to adopt me and make me part of his home, too.

I guess that’s the funny thing about finding your person. Sometimes, they aren’t even looking for you. You just meet, and something changes.

Now, I have a home of my own. And while I’m very happy with how my story turned out, I know there are still so many cats and dogs waiting for their own people.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, maybe it’s time to meet a rescue. You never know who might be waiting to find you.

And if you’re not ready to adopt, you can still help by sharing their stories so they have a better chance of finding a home.

I found my person. Help my friends find theirs, too.

Some of the smallest fighters have the biggest hearts.

Everest was just a tiny kitten when he was rescued alongside other kittens abandoned on the road. Without their mama, surviving was never guaranteed.

But Everest made it.

Today, he is a playful little boy who loves cuddles, affection, and being close to people. After everything he’s been through, he deserves a lifetime of feeling safe and loved.

Somewhere out there, we hope there’s a family waiting to give Everest the home he deserves.

And if you can’t adopt, sharing his story might just help him find the person who can.

Every little act of kindness counts.

Stories like this are a reminder that animal welfare is also about what we teach the people around us.

Children should grow up understanding that animals are living beings who feel fear, pain, and stress. They should never be taught that hurting an animal is a game, a punishment, or a way to make them disappear.

But that responsibility does not belong to children alone. The adults around them have a responsibility to teach compassion, intervene when animals are being mistreated, and make sure that cruelty is never treated as something normal.

We cannot build kinder communities for animals if we only teach people to care once something terrible has happened.

It starts with education. It starts with empathy. And it starts with teaching every generation that animals deserve to be treated with care, not cruelty.

There is never a reason to abuse an animal.

Meet Oreo

Rescued alongside Clifford from an area in Cubao that was being demolished, Oreo has had a familiar friend by his side through all the changes. The two have grown into a bonded pair, finding comfort and companionship in each other as they wait for a home to call their own.

We hope their next chapter is one they can share, with a family who will open their hearts to both of them.
