Update: Adopted! 🎉 Let's check in with Kale in @k9youthalliance Positive Youth Development Series! Kale is just a puppy at 9 months old and 39 lbs. He is treat-motivated, very trainable and loves affection – as you can see here. He already knows so many training commands! He is social with other dogs in shelter play groups and has a rough and rowdy play style. Unfortunately, he is showing signs of kennel stress and needs out of the shelter environment. NO fault of his own. He is an active, young puppy and will thrive in a loving home with plenty of exercise and enrichment as he does in training program, play groups and outings with volunteers. Come see how wonderful this boy is for yourself at graduation this Friday, or come meet him sooner at the shelter. He is a total gem of a boy! 💎 ID: #A2273367 Come watch our student handlers and their shelter dog partners show off everything they’ve learned during program. You can even adopt one of K9YA pups after the ceremony! 📅 Friday, July 31st ⏰ 3:30 PM 📍 North Central Shelter Community Room, 3201 Lacy Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031 RSVP to Kelly at k9ya@k9youthalliance.org #NonProfit #ShelterDog #YouthEmpowerment #DogTraining by @adoptabledogsla

Come with me to bathe Pedro Pascal!! 😍 . This boy! Nothing phases him! . He was soooooo goood! Walked right into the pet store, walked into the metal tub, and sat there and let me wash him! Scrub him! Brush him! Clean his ears, his toes, his booty! . He let me shampoo and condition his fur and then sat and let me blow dry him! 😱 It was quite loud too and he was just the best boy! . Pedro Pascal is 3 years old! Great with kids and dogs! Easy on a leash! Just a giant teddy bear! . He’s ready for his forever home!! 🩵 taken in Los Angeles, California by @adoptabledogsla

Piper graduated @k9youthalliance at @friendsofnorthcentralshelter and totally crushed it! 💪 This 3 yr old, 51 lb spayed female is just the sweetest pea! She walks beautifully on leash checking in frequently with handler, is very affectionate, treat-motivated and so focused. In shelter play groups with other dogs she is described as social with a gentle/dainty play style. So she really checks all the boxes! She came to the shelter as a stray March 2026 and sadly no one showed up to redeem her. 😢 She is ready and waiting for her REAL forever. Come meet this gem of a girl! While we were at North Central waiting for Tango, we found out about Molly. At 14 years old, this precious soul should be spending her days on a soft bed, not walking into a shelter alone. She’s a sweet bully mix who was surrendered, and now she’s safe with us at Wild Horizon Rescue. 🤍 She has the gentlest eyes, leans right in for pets, and always has something to say. She’s wonderfully vocal and we love hearing her little conversations. Right now, we’re giving her time to decompress and get settled here at the ranch, letting her exhale and remember what it feels like to be safe. If you have as much of a soft spot for seniors as we do, send us a message. Molly deserves a foster or adoptive home where her golden years are filled with comfort, love, and plenty of ear scratches. 💙 Hi, I’m Coco! 💙 I’m a 4-year-old Pit Bull mix (North Central LA survivor) and I’m searching for a family to call my very own. 🏡❤️ Here’s a little bit about me: ✨ I’m neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and trained ✨ I love the outdoors — walks, sunshine, and playtime make my tail wag ✨ I’m well behaved, but I’d do best in an only-dog home or with a non-dominant dog, possibly a gentle female ✨ I have the cutest ears (get ready to melt!) ✨ I’m incredibly loyal and make the best companion — I bond deeply and love with my whole heart ✨ I’m great with people and always happy to meet new friends If you’re looking for a loyal, people-loving best friend with a big heart and even bigger ears, I might just be your perfect match. 🐾💛 📍 Los Angeles, CA Coco is ready to meet his forever family — could it be you? As today is National Pit Bull Awareness Day, I'm featuring my FAVE pit bull type dog STILL in need a home — Danny (fka Dangle + #A2055408). Looks like a pit mix with lab/border collie? I've known and loved this tuxedoed goofball since he entered @friendsofnorthcentralshelter in Oct. 2022. I worked extensively with him on my volunteer shifts and in @k9youthalliance training program, which he graduated from twice! He waited at the shelter for a year and a half until his "rescue" in 2024. Sadly, the rescue group folded and abandoned him at a boarding facility where he remains today still living in a kennel. 😢 Danny's vet estimates he is 7-10 yrs old. This is no way to spend his golden years! He is still pretty spry, will benefit from further training including recall and impulse control and needs to be an only pet. No fault of his own — he seems to have never had proper training or socialization. He is VERY treat motivated and easy to train! I taught him so many training commands in K9YA program. And he absolutely LOVES all hoomans. He is also quite a goofball and will keep you laughing! 🤣 Danny's person has to be out there somewhere and he's been waiting SOOO long! Please share to help find Danny a home. 🙏 DM me for more info / to adopt. Danny is located in Los Angeles. • • #nationalpitbullawarenessday #adoptdontshop #pitmix #lovabull by @adoptabledogsla

ADOPTED🎉🎉 Urgent! Gentle boy Gemini needs his person by Tues 07/29 EOD‼️ 2 years old boy Gemini has only been available since 6/22, but his life is already at risk and he needs his person to come right away! Volunteers have found Gemini to be an affectionate, easy-going, and playful young boy. He follows volunteers around the yard, leans in for cuddles, and even asks for extra pets. But living at the shelter is taking its toll on him. He is losing weight, jumping and barking frantically in his kennel, and experiencing diarrhea. Despite his stress, he is still as sweet and gentle as ever when taken out for a walk. Gemini has been in a few playgroups at the shelter and is noted to be social with gentle/dainty play style and to be sexually motivated (not yet neutered). In one session, it was noted less tolerant of older males, but to play with social appropriate males. Due to “Quality of life - unable to provide Gemini with the enrichment he needs. He has not adjusted to the shelter setting,” Gemini is now Euth Alerted and must be adopted or rescued by Tues 07/29 EOD or he will be euthanized on Wednesday. Gemini is still a pup, he should have so much life ahead of him! VISIT North Central to ADOPT! Offer to foster for rescue - comment below & DM us! Share his story! Pledge! RESCUED🎉Thank you @wltdorescue! Please honor pledges at their page & contribute to his Amazon wishlist💗 Energetic COCO is URGENT and needs out by THIS SAT 07/05 EOD due to increased stress behavior‼️ Coco (ID A2190728) is an active boy who loves to play! Ball is life! He’s also a smart boy who knows commands like sit and give paw/shake. Coco has been in several playgroups with other dogs at the shelter, described as social (but sometimes selective) with a rough/rowdy play style. Slow intros are always recommended. Coco came to North Central on April 5th having a ‘possible owner.’ Kennel life is stressful for Coco! He has been jumping and climbing the walls in his kennel. He’s also showing signs of stress and frustration, biting and tugging on his leash, in the yard. He will drop and trade for a toy, but wants to go right back to tug. Coco needs to get out of the shelter to decompress and de-stress!! He needs adoption or rescue by SAT 07/05 EOD, or he will be euthanized on Sunday.💔 Volunteers want to see Coco make a safe exit! We recommend an active person who will give him plenty of exercise and training to help him thrive! Come meet Coco before his time is up! 😰 Visit the shelter to adopt! If you can’t adopt, please consider fostering - Rescues cannot save lives without foster homes. Comment below & DM us! Please Share!💞 *The shelter is closed on July 4th* Coco #A2190728 4 yrs old, 66 lbs, unaltered male ——— 📍 North Central Animal Services - 3201 Lacey Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031 Visit the shelter! 🚨 RESCUE UPDATE: Cronis is SAFE — but still in pain 💔🐾 Cronis was past his euthanasia deadline at the shelter. He was dumped by his owners, left with a severe, untreated skin condition, and given up on. We fought for more time — and pulled him in the final hours. 🙏 ✨ Now he’s safe. He has a foster. But he’s still suffering. His skin is raw, itchy, inflamed — and he needs vet care ASAP. 🧼 We’re fundraising to cover: • Vet exams + bloodwork • Cytopoint + skin meds • Neuter (once stable) • Ongoing follow-up visits 💛 If you pledged or want to help: 👉 Donate via links in our bio and story 📲 DM us if you need the link 📣 SHARE this post — reach saves lives You helped save his life.
