Twenty one years ago, this African babe slid into my arms and it’s been love at first sight. I remember that day so well, it’s been a tour de force of love ever since your arrival. I manifest nothing but greatness and may this year be filled with all the wonderful goodness you give out to the universe, may it return to you in many wonderful ways, you deserve all the love, protection, prosperity, peace, happiness and harmony. What a beautiful African doll you are in the way you love, care, nurture, smile and thoughtfulness towards yourself and others around you. You make my heart flutter knowing you, the love is deeply truly blue. You have come far and you have far more to go, see, achieve and be phenomenal whilst being happy.

Spectacular Sapphire September without a doubt. 💙💙🧚🏾 by @adorned_bybarb

My astonishing August, it never disappoints and I’m not ready to let go of August, but I can smell the presence of spectacular September. I visited this immersive, creative, educative most inspiring and important exhibition at the @vam_east. It was everything and more, I got my boogie down unapologetically in view of others because I’ve stopped caring what others think and more about what works my body. I shook off negativity whilst time travelling the various musical genres from gospel, jazz, blues, rhythm & blues, rock, ska, pop, drum and base, jungle, reggae, basically the whole spectrum of black music. It’s a lot to take in but very much worth it. #TheMusicisBlack #BlackmusicalhistoryinBritain #Blackwealth #Everydayisblackhistory #AfricanhistoryISWorldHistoryHerstory by @adorned_bybarb

January 2026, I went to the @royalacademyarts to view the most amazing exhibition of figurative paintings which centre Black people unapologetically. It was so mesmerising, soul fed and captivating for my creativity. I’m not sure reasons it’s taken me this long to air the images captured. May is a bittersweet month for me yet I noticed as we are three days in, things are opening up again, life is making sense again and breathing and life seem a little easier. The phrase “what God cannot do, does not exist”, led me to conclude, God is a woman. The silent battles fought and won, the smile when you actually want to break down and cry, the strong shoulders you hope will curve rounded, the struggle of showing up when you just want to hibernate, no one will truly know or understand. Enjoy, these are some of my favourites which conjured lots of various emotions. #Latergram #KerryJamesMarshallexhibition #melantedpeoples #Africanpeople #strikeaposeArt by @adorned_bybarb

2025 peppered me paah, but it’s ok, because still I rise but before the year was out, I and one of my African dolls treated our eyes on this wonderful feast of delectable tapestry woven art pieces. @gallery1957. The exhibition was by Rita Mawuena Benissan and entitled The ones before her were covered in gold. This was such a great immaculate and intimately crafted, rich and beautifully presented. We both thoroughly enjoyed going around and immersing ourselves in the art which took us several miles away from the cold and into the warmth of home. With every frame, one was actually catapulted there in the midst of it as a spectator within and looking in. Ghana my beloved beautiful and most treasured land. I love you with all my heart and more. I’ll be home soon, so you can wrap me in your warm embrace and soak my woes away, while you soothe my weary soul. #latergram #gallery1957london #pepperedby2025 #TheOnesBeforeHerWereCoveredInGold #RitaMawuenaBenissan by @adorned_bybarb

#Augustbreak2023 day31 August was once in a blue moon month. Amazing August, my birth month, always delivers. This year was nothing short of spectacular, surprising, sensational and scrumptious. It’s been an accomplished month taking part in this photo challenge and gratifying to see the love received on this journey of a photo per day accompanying a word. #Augustwas #amood #gratitude #journey #spiritual #BlueMoon #latergram #nofilter #London #SouthLondon #skyline #clearsky #coolblue by @adorned_bybarb
