From my time in Poland, this was my first time seeing red squirrels and it was pretty exciting as well! This one was an adult that was navigating around the branches of the tree during the evening and was getting pretty dark within this area. The background with the leaves also features some nice bokeh for the composition as well with some light entering the scene.

This section of bark had a unique appearance, where the yellow sections that appear as if they are peeling off reminds me of parmesan cheese with the texture and details.

I figured I would title this photo that way and maybe someone else sees the resemblance!

Within a field of yellow flowers in the evening, this American goldfinch closely resembles its surroundings as it perches momentarily along the stem of one of the flowers. These are some of my favorite ones to see flying around and chirping in the distance, reminding me of summer with their liveliness.

This tree from a far distance in the evening, appears as if it were a light source illuminating the surroundings of the nearby foliage. Using the foreground of neighboring plants, I was able to create this composition using some additional depth as well.

Along a beach just as it is about to rain, many of these ring-billed gulls were moving across the shallow puddles across the sand. This one was relatively close to me and against a bleak horizon of where the sand meets the body of water, has a more moody atmosphere and appearance to it.

Within a nature preserve, the evening light made this section look very tranquil with the yellows of the neighboring flowers and light greens of the leaves above. The layers of isolated trees spaced out also made the depth in this composition look more satisfying to look at from a far distance.

| Vigilant Flycatcher |

September 2026

Out in a nature preserve yesterday, this little bird was flying around back and forth, landing back to the same branch that it is perched on, which is a common behavior. I believe this is a great crested flycatcher that is a juvenile still, given how it still doesn't have as much of the characteristic yellow it has.

The evening light and bokeh made the composition turn out nicely, while also featuring the length of the tree branch it is perched on.

Along a lake, this Eurasian coot was gracefully gliding over the water surface in the evening. The lighting with the sun coming down made the background look more magical as a result with how the water reflects the light.
