POSTS STORIES REELS

The Bloom is my ode to 2000s-era drama films about understanding autism, our love to families, and past trauma, all neatly wrapped in such warm manner. It is my future film project about a girl and a therapist who develop a sense of friendship but came at a cost of remembering her past trauma.

Watch it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/fFlWCqV9rXs (or visit my channel in the bio)

Feel free to read my script and concept pitch document via my YouTube channel, too!

Here are the characters to The Bloom!

1. Laura Merchant: A brilliant but neurodivergent therapist, her elegance and personality can calm any struggling children, hired by the Lewis family as their last stand, but grew an emotional attachment to her client. While brilliant on the outside, her experience echoes her traumatic past, thanks to her concordant countertransference, driving her ego to guide the child in the right direction. I wrote and develop this character specifically with Bella Ramsey in mind, thought they might nailed it!

2. Victoria “Vicky” Lewis: A young girl and the daughter of the Lewis family, she is diagnosed with Apserger’s syndrome, and she is being threatened to be sent away to boarding school, at least if there is no improvement. She became friends with Laura Merchant since the day she first met.

3. Helen Lewis: The mother of the Lewis family, a kind, caring, but worried mother who hates to let her child go at this stage, she would do whatever it takes to not let Vicky to be exiled, and also a good friend of Laura. I do think I also wanted this character to be played by Kate Winslet, thanks to her reputation in this kind of drama. Her name is a reference to Helen Keller.

4. Christopher Lewis: The father of the Lewis family, strict but caring, initially sees boarding school as the only way to make Vicky behave, but he became the believer of Laura’s motive on guiding a child.

5. Miss Farrow: Vicky’s shadow teacher and Laura’s foil, while no antagonist, she represents a system that failed to understand Vicky’s condition, assuming that Vicky has a bad personality, despite that, she still believes in Helen’s grace period, and hoping the therapist will show progress…

Here is the proof that my showreel for my future film project, The Bloom, is in progress as of now. This will be scanned later into Photoshop and animated using After Effects.

The Bloom is my future project centering around a little girl, Vicky, with autism, along with the help of a neurodivergent therapist (Laura), she is being guided in a world that no one understands them, but a flashback that the therapist had pressured her to make Vicky feel seen and never end up in a trauma like the therapist had before.

If you like 2000s-era drama such as The Hours, Finding Neverland, or A Very Long Engagement, if you like tearful stories, or want to see Bella Ramsey in a role like this, as I envision them to play the therapist, The Bloom is a film for you!

Stay tuned for the showreel!

Yes, I may going to change the film’s title again, often to avoid of being generic, not conflicting with other works or my next work, or similar. I need something that’s more similar to the film’s plot and tone, or anything that felt stand out and something straight out of a 2000s drama film.

Have you decide which one? If you think the three new titles are not that, suggest me in the comments!

Here’s the long-awaited follow-up, here’s my reason why Kate Winslet is BETTER-SUITED for the role of Helen Lewis a.k.a. Vicky’s mother, again, not the short film version, but the actual film once greenlit! Again, sorry if it’s a bit too long…

Reasons why Bella Ramsey is PERFECT for the role of Dr. Laura Merchant for The Bloom, not the short film version, but the actual film once greenlit! Sorry if this video is a bit too long…

Finally, some update! Here are the current progress for The Bloom short film, such as the current progress for storyboard (as of September 7, 2026) and THREE 3D model progress for Miss Farrow, Helen Lewis / Vicky’s mom (based on Kate Winslet’s likeness and, like Laura, written with her in mind), Christopher Lewis / Vicky’s dad which is currently in 80% completion, and Miss Valencia / the family maid (as of September 10, 2026).

All of which are modeled by both myself and @tia.rar , who would also handle rigging and clothing in Blender.

For tomorrow, my plan is to do a bit of “prop hunting” and environment development via Blender, given that college begins next week, I should have a few days free doing environment work and college preparation.

The Bloom short film progress update with two separate dates because I forgot to upload these two and kinda lazy but I have to fight this habit.

Image 1: Storyboard update as of September 3, 2026. The current shot shows Laura making a challenge for Vicky on the bedroom desk.

Image 2: Vicky 3D model update as of September 1, 2026.

Happy to say that Laura’s 3D model is now undergoing the clothing process with the help of @tia.rar using Blender, now we just have to finish and refine Vicky’s 3D model, eventually the parents and Miss Farrow, it should be ready and rigged by September 14.

Ultimate progress post for The Bloom short movie as of August 26, 2026. With a help of my friend (@tia.rar), we have finally begin to model Vicky’s 3D model, whereas Laura’s 3D model is nearing its completion, with added minor changes to match the likeness of Bella Ramsey.

Also, storyboard progress on the final slide, now I’m on board 81, quite a lot, I know!

If you see this, please share it with someone so I can get to 1K followers by at least the end of this year, we need everyone to know that this film is happening!

Finally, some steady progress on Laura Merchant’s 3D model. Yeah, I know, it’s blocky and all, but I’m getting there! So, it’s almost done (somewhat, the others still have to be pay attention to, but I have a friend to help me did it before college begins), so all it needs is clothing, which will be done on Blender, and make some modifications to the head mesh.

Progress as of August 20, 2026.

Image two is the reference, again, I made Laura with Bella in mind, and as soon it’s greenlit, Bella must play Laura and accepts no substitute EVER, otherwise, the third image is the consequence.

While 3D modeling has been a slow start due to the fact that I am new to 3D in general, storyboard has shown some progress, here it is since August 19, 2026 showing a close-up of Miss Farrow's angry face.

So far, development for The Bloom was quite slow, so much that I wanted to target this by July/August 2027, but I have to get there.

Due to various reasons and because I’ll be out for a while, production for The Bloom short film will be delayed until August 18th, thank you for noticing this and for believing in this project!
