We cannot believe that we have had nearly 5,000 entries 🫶🤩🤯

We did record a thank you video over the weekend but I messed up and didn’t record the audio 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

We need to spend the time going through all the amazing entries so I re-recorded as a voiceover. I’m pretty sure this what @adrianlloyd_author and @jakemintonillustration said.

Huge thanks for every single entry. I’m afraid we need a bit more time to go through them all and select the winners. We’ve pushed the date back to Friday 12 June.

Thanks again to schools, teachers, parents and every entry 👏👏

📚✨ National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 📖

Emali Brighton headed out on a special excursion to the @holdfastbay Community Centre to join thousands of children right across Australia in reading Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller at the very same moment. 🦘⚽

There’s something truly special about knowing that while our Emali children were turning the pages together, so many other children were doing exactly the same thing from libraries, classrooms and living rooms all over the nation. A shared moment of story, imagination and connection. 💛

Beyond storytime, the fun continued with games, fresh air, and lunch soaking up the sunshine outside. The perfect day! ☀️

A huge thank you to authors @adamjacksonbooks and @adrianlloyd_author for such a wonderful book, and to @alianational @littlebookpress and everyone involved in making NSS 2026 so special.

Here’s to raising little readers, one story at a time. 📖
