Hi I’m Adrienne.
I’m a mom of 4, a wife, and a coach, but this didn’t start from having it all together.
For the last 10 years, l’ve been on my own journey of growth. I’ve always felt a pull to help people heal, but it came from living it first. Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, unsure of what to do next, and constantly trying to figure out how to feel better and show up differently.
I know what it’s like to feel like you’re trying, but nothing is really sticking. Like you’re doing the work, but still ending up in the same patterns.
That’s why I’m here.
Not to give you more information or another routine to follow, but to guide you with practical tools that actually work in real life, when you’re overwhelmed, triggered, or ready to check out.
This is about learning how to lead yourself in those moments.
If this resonates, you’re in the right place. by @adriennefabling

I disappeared from this page almost two months ago.

And strangely enough, it happened right when I finally had momentum.

I had been consistently creating for months. My last post had more views and engagement than anything I’d shared in a long time. I was excited about where things were going.

And then life happened.

My family received some really difficult news, and almost overnight, I didn’t have the capacity to show up here anymore.

So I didn’t.

There was a time when I probably would have made that mean I was inconsistent. That I was losing momentum. That I needed to push through.

This time, I knew what mattered most.

My family needed me. I needed space to grieve, process and be fully human.
And my business could wait.

I’ve talked a lot about self-leadership, and sometimes self-leadership looks like taking action, keeping commitments and doing the hard thing.

And sometimes it looks like knowing when not to push.

Sometimes it looks like recognizing you can’t lead yourself through something alone and asking for support. Letting other people hold some of the weight when you don’t have the capacity to carry it all yourself.

Knowing when something else needs you more.

Knowing when you need you more.

I’m still walking through parts of this. There isn’t a neat ending or some big lesson I’ve wrapped up with a bow.

But I’m here today. And that feels like enough.

Thank you to those that have held me these last couple months. I wouldn’t be standing without you. 🤍 by @adriennefabling

There are seasons when all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other.

This is one of those seasons for me.

Recently, our family has been walking through something incredibly difficult. It’s shifted my focus completely. Right now my heart and my energy belong with my family as we trust God with what feels far bigger than us.

I don’t understand why some people are handed the stories they’re handed. I don’t know why pain touches one family one way and another family differently.

I may never know.

What I do know is that every painful chapter I’ve walked through has left me with more compassion than I had before.

There was a time I believed God was punishing me. I wondered what I had done wrong. I thought maybe I had to earn goodness.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I believe God meets us in our suffering.

Psalm 40 has carried me more times than I can count. It reminds me that God doesn’t leave us in the pit. He hears us. He lifts us onto solid ground. And one day, someone else finds hope for their own story.

I’m not standing on that rock because life has been easy.

I’m standing there because God has not left me in my suffering.

And if my life helps someone else believe they won’t stay in their own pit forever, then none of this pain will be wasted. by @adriennefabling

So many of us think our reactions, habits, and relationship patterns are just who we are.

But so often, they’re old beliefs, protective strategies, and stories we’ve carried for years without realizing they’re there.
Comment 🤍 if this is you.

Awareness is where every real change begins. ⤵️

You can’t change a pattern you can’t see.
You can’t question a belief you’re still calling truth.
You can’t lead a protective behavior you don’t even realize is protecting you.

Every new layer of healing starts with seeing something that was invisible before.

Not because you missed it.
✨Because we only become aware of what we’re ready to see.✨

This is self-leadership.
Not becoming someone new.
But in becoming AWARE of what’s been leading you all along so you can choose differently.

Sometimes healing means reopening the door.

I believe that, so I did. I led with compassion, softness, hope. And I watched the same old pattern walk right back through it.

For some, the door reopens and stays open. That wasn’t my story.

What I learned instead: compassion doesn’t owe anyone access.
You can wish someone peace from the other side of a boundary.
Both can be true and nobody teaches us that.
Tag a woman who needs this permission today. 💛

Every opinion I collected. Every “what do you think I should do?” Every time I needed someone’s blessing before I trusted my own.
I called it seeking wisdom.
It was a little girl looking for a mother in every room she walked into.

If you’re the strong one who secretly wishes someone would just tell you it’s going to be okay - I see you.
You’re not needy.
You’re unmothered.
And the mothering you’re still searching for? You can learn to give it to yourself.

Share this with a strong one who needs it today. 🤍

But it went deeper than that. ⤵️
When you grow up never feeling like your version matters. You’re always wrong. Always criticized. You learn to analyze every emotion before you let it out - turn it over, check it, make sure it was airtight before you say a word.
And it’s still “wrong” to them.

So I took responsibility for that too. For how people felt. For how conversations landed. For the temperature of every room I walked into.

By the time I was in my marriages, any amount of conflict felt like a mountain I had to climb. I couldn’t be okay if we weren’t okay. I needed to be heard desperately, because most of my life I hadn’t been. So I explained. And explained. And explained.
Not because I was difficult.
Because I was terrified of losing their love if I didn’t make them understand me.
That was the wound underneath all of it.
The shift didn’t come from finally being understood. It came from learning to hold myself while I wasn’t.
I catch myself in this pattern still. And when I do, I go back to the work, holding space for myself, self-acceptance, reminding myself that being misunderstood doesn’t change my worth.
I get to have a say. I don’t have to earn the right to it by explaining myself perfectly.
That’s the difference.

Was this you? Drop a 🤍 in the comments. And save this for the moment you catch yourself doing it again.

There came a point in my healing where I started to notice something.

The more I let myself fully feel the grief, the sadness, the anger…
the more I could feel joy.

I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

For so many years, I was trying not to feel the hard things. But you can’t selectively shut off emotions. When we numb pain, we also numb the parts of us that experience joy, wonder, connection, and love.

Somewhere along the way, healing stopped being about fixing myself.
It became about making room for the life I actually wanted to experience.

And for me…
the joy was always the point.

I used to think the charge I felt in my body meant the other person needed to change.

My heart would race.
I’d get defensive.
I’d replay the conversation over and over, trying to prove why I was right.

Sometimes the other person had crossed a boundary.
Sometimes they hadn’t.
Sometimes it was both.

What I’m learning is this:
My triggers aren’t a signal to immediately change the other person or prove my point.

They’re an invitation to pause and lead myself first.
To notice what’s happening in my body.
To get curious about the story I’m telling myself.

Then I get to choose how I want to respond instead of letting the trigger decide for me.

That shift is changing how I show up in my relationships.

Not because I stopped being triggered. Because I stopped giving every trigger the final say.
