Hey, I'm Elorm Anyadi aka the African soul on cape Breton soil (Afro.Caper) . Ghana ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญis home and Cape Breton,my home away from home. A few months after graduation ,I slipped into depression. And I tried many things to help myself but to no avail. Too broke to go on vacation abroad, I sought for an inexpensive way to get me away from my room and my thoughts. One day, a friend took me on my first ever hike and just the breathe of fresh air gave me so much clarity. I developed a sudden lust for adventure and I have enjoyed every bit of the great outdoors ever since . I hope to use my platform to get more BIPOC into nature to experience its healing power. by @adventurendiversity

Hi Iโ€™m Tara. Iโ€™m a Miโ€™kmaw woman from Eskasoni First Nations the unceded territory of Unamaโ€™ki known as Cape Breton Island. My people the Miโ€™kmaw have always welcome visitors to Miโ€™kmaโ€™ki territory. My peoples have signed treaties for all to reside and prosper since time and immemorial. As a child I always had a natural attraction to nature. It was where you would have found me playing in the woods and beaches in my community. Hiking and adventuring give me a sense of reconnection to my past knowing that my ancestors historic foots steps to the land. Come walk with me and my T.E.A.M where my ancestors and every bit of my culture can be found within the land that I and my people love. Hi Am Anass, an international student from Kenya,living in Sydney. I'm currently in my final year of BET petroleum at CBU. Always loved nature but never had the motivation to get into exploring and didnโ€™t know where to start. One of my goals of being a part of this group ( AnD) is to make sure that international students like myself have a representation and also to see BIPOC being a part of these activities and to be a face of a more diverse group of individuals. Since I started doing outdoor adventures, Iโ€™ve been exposed to different groups of people and environments and I think everyone should get that chance or at least have it as an option for everyone around. Hi, I'm Mike and I grew up in a tiny, diverse neighbourhood called Whitney Pier outside of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Diverse cultures bring unique experiences and perspectives, which is extremely valuable anywhere. In my high school, you could've counted the number of Black students on one hand and the number of Black teachers or mentors was even less. When I started hiking, I saw a disparity in the adventure community around me, making me feel like I was back in high school with no diversity.
