Hello friends! As you could probably tell, life has been life-ing pretty hard and the shop has remained “on vacation” far longer than expected. Unfortunately, the future of my Adventurers Project is still unknown - I absolutely love sharing my work with you all, but as a one man operation with limited resources, mostly word of mouth sales because of the ol changing algorithm, and a full time job, it has proven difficult to maintain and keep up. I experimented with selling through instagram shopping over on my personal account, which had its benefits, but also had its pitfalls. That said, rather than shut down the Etsy shop completely, I decided to re-open with a smaller inventory, and will add a few new items along the way! Even though the shop’s original vision has changed a bit over the years, I have really enjoyed the friendships and opportunities that have been presented through creating and sharing my work with this community of adventurers and theme park lovers! I will do what I can to keep it afloat! Thanks as always for the support and I’ll see you soon! - Josh by @adventurersproject

Grab some quarters and head down to Flynn’s! This is an older design that I printed several years ago but never released because I noticed a small mistake. Decided it was time to put it on the grid, er in the shop. #adventurersproject #tron #arcade #flyer #retro by @adventurersproject

My favorite SDCC reveal…😮 One of my favorite reveals from SDCC this year has to be this amazing Rocketeer figure, although the release date is questionable…is there even a Q5?! 🧐 Set to be released by Bigelows, this one looks like a true classic waiting to happen! Definitely inspired by the old Playmates Dick Tracy figures given the wide stance and scale, it almost feels like something ripped right out of the early 90s! Who doesn’t love a good retro figure? Okay truth is, It’s completely unofficial, completely fake, and honestly one of my favorite things I’ve made in a while. Inspired by the incredible art by @adventurersproject (@thesteele ) this was a fun one to bring to life, stay tuned tomorrow for a giveaway post tomorrow! Also if this was real I’d totally buy one though. 🚀 #SDCC #SanDiegoComicCon #TheRocketeer #ActionFigures #FanMade by @adventurersproject

The Rocketeer action figure line I always wanted never existed in my childhood, and recently my pal @totallyradgreg planted the seed in my brain to design what they might have looked like! So here’s my vision of what could’ve been the 1991 Rocketeer action figure. When it came to action figures in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Playmates was creatively the best of the best brand for me. Ninja Turtles kept coming out with the wackiest and most creative figures all the time. In 1990 we got a beautifully stylized Dick Tracy movie and along with it, a fantastic colorful and stylized line of Dick Tracy figures. We both thought those would be a great basis for our Rocketeer. If you’re of my generation, Kay•Bee Toys was the best place to get your figures for a good price. So naturally I put a nod to the now defunct toy store chain on the price sticker - with a Rocketeer twist! Cliff flew GeeBee aircraft in the air show so it was a perfect play on words and branding. Similarly, the Playmates logo became Bigelow’s as a nod to the Air Circus in which he performed his stunt flying. I had fun with a little detail on this one that many might not notice without pointing it out, but it added to the authenticity of the figure - those pesky pieces of tape that hold the accessories in place! I hope you enjoy this piece, as I am quite proud of it and I had a lot of fun drawing it. And hey, maybe at some point I’ll be able to make this figure a reality! Let me know if you’d like this as prints and I’ll do a small run if there is enough interest! #adventurersproject #therocketeer #actionfigure #toydesign #thesteeledesigns Detail of the figure Detail of accessories Detail of price sticker Process sketch Inspiration and progress of color on figure Initial layout idea sketch, revision of title placement Initial color test for the backing card before deciding on imagery for the background by @adventurersproject

Walt said progress is impossible without change. It’s the end of an era for the Carousel of Progress, but I’m excited for the great big beautiful tomorrow ahead! Here’s a design celebrating not just the attraction itself (in the form of the retro futuristic architecture of the Carousel Theater building and Tomorrowland) , but also Walt’s original vision for his EPCOT - “an Experimental Prototype Community that will always be in the state of becoming. It will never cease to be a living blueprint of the future where people actually live a life they can’t find anyplace else in the world.” Here’s to moving forward, and to seeing our beloved multigenerational attraction move into the future! #adventurersproject #carouselofprogress #waltdisney #progresscity #tomorrowland by @adventurersproject

I’ve been putting more original hand painted and hand drawn work in the shop lately - like this 8.5 x 9 inch original drawing - Posca paint marker study of Roger Kastel’s iconic shark painting featured on the Jaws poster.
