Part 3/3: @visittelluride 🍂 The GOLD at the end of our fall road trip last year!

We kicked things off with coffee from @thecoffeecowboy (10/10 recommend ☕️), took it on the gondola for unreal mountain and fall color views, then spent the day exploring downtown and hiking through the golden aspens.

We booked a hostel just outside town to save money, then took the shuttle in. The lesson? Don’t assume Uber or Lyft will be an option later that night. 😂

Three stops, countless golden aspens, unexpected adventures, and memories with one of my favorite people.

If you’re in Colorado during peak fall, pick a direction, grab your bestie, and go see where the day takes you. You don’t need a perfect itinerary to have an unforgettable trip. 🤎

Mini hot apple cider donuts might be my favorite fall incentive. 😂🍎

Your reminder to take advantage of Colorado in the fall. Pick out a pumpkin, wander through a corn maze, bring your dog, and eat something delicious. You don’t need a big plan to make a day feel special.

This time last year, our spontaneous road trip (Day2) took us to Ice Lake… and somehow we ended up hiking the entire thing with two people we met on the trail. 😂

I’ve been getting worse with heights as I get older, and there was one section where I was getting pretty nervous. The girl we met literally talked me through where to put my feet and even lent me one of her hiking poles. Meanwhile, my friend slides through everything like a mountain goat and hits me with “but did you die?” at the end. 😂

Where else do you meet two strangers on a trail, hike the whole way together, help each other through the sketchy parts, and leave with a bunch of new memories? Such a cool day 🤍 (….&&&& the blue of the water of course)

We wanted to make visiting RMNP with Zep a memorable one, so we did it in style. We checked in @sunoutdoorsrockymountains a perfect home base right outside the park’s West entrance

The Weekend Menu:
🛶 The Lake: We rented a kayak on the resort’s private lake. This was Zep’s favorite activity

🐾 The Dog Parks: The resort actually has three different dog parks, which was perfect for getting Zep’s energy out

🎾 The Human Fun: While Zep caught up on his senior naps back at the cabin, we got to enjoy the pool, some pickleball, and live music right on the property

🫎 The Drive: We ended the trip exploring Trail Ridge Road. It’s the best way to see the park with your pup

Rocky Mountain NP has always had a massive place in my heart. It’s where I take everyone I love when they visit CO. But because dogs aren’t allowed on the trails, Zep usually has to sit this one out.

This weekend, we decided it was finally his turn.

We stayed at a dog-friendly glamping spot @sunoutdoorsrockymountains right outside the park’s west entrance. It was the perfect home base for making this his weekend. Three dog parks, a swim in the lake, pickleball while he napped off the excitement, and a drive through the clouds on Trail Ridge Road the next morning.

This time he finally got to see why I love RMNP so much.

Celebrating friendship and the beginning of “boo” season with a beautiful hike at Mayflower Gulch! 🏔️🍂 600 feet of elevation gain in 1.5 miles to this famous, postcard-perfect view of Mt. Fletcher through the old cabin window.

We worked for the views, had great conversation the whole way, then took a long moment to enjoy some great NA @craftwellcocktails drinks while soaking in the mountain views.

Honestly, more afternoons like this please 💚

*9/13/26* We paid for seats and barely used them 😂 We were on a girls weekend and decided to try the @leadvillerailroad not really expecting this much fall color yet.

But the whole ride was ridiculously beautiful. Blue skies, yellow aspens, mountain views, and the three of us basically refusing to sit down because we wanted to be outside taking it all in.

Our conductor, Kyle, was also full of interesting stories about the railway and the area. He told us they normally get 300+ inches of snow, but last winter they got less than 40, which may help explain why everything is turning so early this year.

The whole experience was about 2 hours of riding with a 30-minute stop in the middle to get out and stretch our legs.

What would we do without the spontaneous friend who is down for anything …including adventure after getting sick…?! (Everyone say HAPPY BDAY to this poor girl 🤣🤣 she’s going to love this mem from last year)

We hiked around, found some beautiful fall colors, ate a very important burger, and basically stopped every five mins because the views were ridiculous.

Our dinner plan was a rooftop brewery. That didn’t work out because they were short-staffed and the rooftop was closed. So we accidentally ended up at a Thai restaurant with a rooftop, fire pits, incredible food, and one of the best mountain views of the whole trip. Honestly? I think the failed plan was better. 😂

And that was only Day Uno.

A few places from our day if you’re saving this for a future Ouray trip:
☕ Coffee + bagels: @kamis_samis_ouray
🥾 Hike: perimeter trail
🍔 Lunch: maggiesouray_official
🍜 Dinner: instagramless Thai Chili ❤️
🏨 Stay: @timberridgelodgeouray

August reminded me that a good life doesn’t always look like a big adventure. Sometimes it’s a slow morning with my sister.

A really good peach.

Finding ladybugs.

Seeing growth in your first garden.

A rainbow you almost missed.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to overlook these tiny moments because we’re waiting for the big things to make us feel better.

The trip.
The promotion.
The weekend.
The vacation.
The “when life finally calms down.”

But I’m learning that feeling good can be built in much smaller ways.

So this week, try this:

Take 5 minutes and think about the tiny moments from the past month that made you feel happy, calm, connected, or simply… alive.

You might be surprised by how many there were.

What’s one small thing you’re grateful you noticed lately? 🍑👯‍♀️🐞🥒🌈 #MondayReset #smallwins #slowliving Hand holding a fresh peach with a farmers market haul of fruit, granola, and coffee in Colorado, late summer. taken in Colorado by @adventureselfcare
