By Gods grace and the support of my community, friends and family ..an AMAZING thing happened this past weekend!

I am truly honored to have won the “Pitch Black” competition. The entire experience was exhilarating! The venue @lab7coworking is one the most cultured and vibey spaces in Sac! The people, champagne and music made for a dope exchange of energy all night!

A huge congratulations to all the participants! Sharing your heart work to a room full of people is beyond brave! I know there were so many connections and opportunities made! A special shoutout to my fellow place winners @thebrittanyclaypool @cre8ivegang I’m so so proud of and inspired by yall!! We really DID THAT! 👏🏾

A huge thank you again to @thecommongoodco y’all are doing amazing work in the community and I look forward to continuing to support!

A dream in a dress ✨

It’s so many emotions that come with stepping into your purpose. You must sacrifice who you’ve been. Get clear about who you want to be. Reject all things that don’t align. And think yourself worthy of everything you are to receive. Preparation is everything.

Nature is ours..

Colonization intentionally separated us from our connection with the land.

We went from being in communion with the land to exploiting and extracting the land for profit.

Western values center ownership and production, African philosophy regards the land as spiritual and communal: something to be in relationship with, not exercise power over.

The Earth is bleeding and she needs us to remember. Remember how to tend, how to care, how to honor.

It’s time we return to what has always been ours.

Community is built through the people willing to show up and help hold the vision.

Thank you, Adwoa, for serving as our MC and helping guide Welcoming Wombs with presence, care, and intention. From welcoming guests and introducing facilitators to holding space throughout the day and leading our closing circle, your contributions helped create a gathering that felt connected, grounded, and welcoming.

One of the things I appreciated most about Welcoming Wombs was watching so many people share their gifts in service of the community. Your voice, leadership, and willingness to step into this role were an important part of making the day what it was.

Keep summa spicy 🌶️

Pilli Pilli was EVERYTHING! A safe space for Black bodies to express and embody queerness, joy and connection. From the music, to the food (@jerkies.916) to the decor this one had a girl ready to move to Oakland for more!!!

Sisterhood ALWAYS comes thru 💅🏾

Baby I need my sisters like I need oxygen fr. I truly can’t stress enough how important it is to have safe, kind and loving women in your life that see YOU.

Like I truly wish this for women and girls so much! Having someone you can count on and be yourself with in an incredibly honest way. Your sister will really choose you in your most vulnerable state and just make you feel so loved and valued.

Women friendships are life saving. The end. 💁🏿‍♀️

We LOVE a good braid out!!

I accomplish this on stretched hair using @ilovethedoux Most Def mousse fold hold and @carolsdaughter Goddess Strength leave in for moisture.

And of course I used Fantasia ic heat protectant of course!

What do we thinking of these results?? I love a good fluffy and defined Day 1 look 💅🏾

PS. In the name of color theory, I will not be recording in this much again 😫

ANY and EVERY occasion!! 🗣️

I remember just a few years ago I had an interview and I was deeply overthinking wearing my Afro. I was wondering what they’d think of me and if it would come across as unprofessional.’

I showed up with the Afro. I did not get the job, but I’m really happy I showed up as myself, even in uncertainty.

To all my girlies still learning to love your Afro, it’s take time. Wear your Afro round the house or maybe to run errands.

Spend some time getting comfy with your Afro, kinks, coils as curls. Learn how you like your hair to frame your face and pay around with accessories.

Whatever you do, please never give up on your Afro! 🫶🏾✨
