Today’s @hmvchelmsford in-store performance has been postponed. Apologies to anyone who was planning to come along. We’re hoping to rearrange and I’ll share a new date once confirmed.

Following my @hmvcolchester in-store back in June, I’m looking forward to playing @hmvchelmsford this Saturday, 10 October, at 3pm!

I’ll be sharing songs from my new album ‘Under Gainsborough Skies’, alongside a few older faves, and signing copies too.

Pop along for a listen! 🎶

TWO WEEKS TODAY!

On Friday 2nd October, I’ll be playing a headline show at @johnpeelcentre in Stowmarket.

I’ll be joined by the multi-instrumentalist @tobytrumpet , who’s performed on all of my albums, including ‘Under Gainsborough Skies’. We’ll be performing songs from the new album alongside favourites from ‘Tell the Worry Dolls’ and ‘London Songs’.

Opening the evening will be @samuel_taylor_music , whose wonderful performance first caught my attention at @maverickfestivalsuffolk last year.

It promises to be a very special night in one of Suffolk’s finest independent venues. I’d love to see you there!

Doors 7:30pm · Advance £12 / Door £15

Live drawings by our artist Lee that helped set the scene for Ady Johnson's headline set on saturday.

Thanks to everybody who came, it was yet another memorable show with fine musicianship.

Ember sessions is looking for more artists to work with at future shows, anyone interested in live drawing please contact us via dm or email. We love to see art inspired by the folk performance taking shape before us. We hope a few artists will be interested giving this a try at our next show on oct 3rd. (Usually we have 1 artist draw live and overhead project this onto a screen beside the stage, on oct 3rd there will be no projections)

A couple of news items from the depths of my breezy garden…

Tomorrow is Bandcamp Friday, when Bandcamp waives its fees to artists. So, a timely reminder that just one of the five ‘Under Gainsborough Skies’ limited-edition test pressings remains. It features unique artwork by my stepdad, @davidleemingfineartist , and is signed by us both.

Then on Saturday, I’ll be playing the intimate @embersessionscolchester at @thecommons.cafe in Colchester, alongside @danieljacklinmusic and host @deanfrostmusic - hope you can make it along! 🎶
