Aerial Sling Friends!!🤸‍♀️

If you want to understand aerial sling dynamics on a deeper level come join Camille ( @femme_fenix ) and I on our aerial sling train-cation in Oaxaca Mexico.

At Swings and Swirls we will build from the foundations of dynamics into more advanced skills like elbow circles, back catching, twisting and more. We will cover how to fall safely, the how and why behind the skill, and individualized coaching so you can work on the progressions thats right for you. We will also be going over creative transitions and expressive sequences while enjoying a retreat experience.

Quick tip for smoothing out your Around the World🌟 There is a lot of moving parts that make up this skill but today I am focusing one.

Hand placement 👐

Make sure your hands are around forehead height instead of below the jaw. This creates more space for you to re-enter the hammock. Hope this helps!

A movement prompt I love giving myself and my students is finding a familiar wrap and then finding an unfamiliar exit out of it. It can really help us discover how our body perfers to move with the apparatus. This is one of the reasons why sling is my favorite because taking a "wrong turn" can turn into a new pose or wrap. Do you have any fun movement prompts you give yourself while youre in the air? #aerialsling by @aerial.time

Washing Machine Heart has been stuck in my head and I thought about what skills resemble a washing machine. I found tuck to front balance, thigh circles, arabesque roll (aka washing machine!) and elbow circles. The beat in this song sounds like something heavy hitting the wall of a washing machine so I was trying to find corners in my rolling skills to imitate that. Im enjoying getting back to creating for myself💓 #aerialsling by @aerial.time
