Sat Aug 29th!

Calling all cyclists, robotboys, fembots, and dancehall queens! Call your girlfriend and tell her it’s time that we dance to the beat.

This ride is all Robyn. Who’s that girl? She’s an internationally beloved Swedish pop-star - killin’ it since ‘94. She’s the founder and CEO of Konichiwa Records. Listed in section 202 of the United Nations Security Act of 1979 as being too hot to wear tight sweaters in international airspace. She’s recently had a comeback album that had fans gasping - is it really real? I know it’s just dopamine but the timing of this ride just feels so real to me. I’ll talk you through it...

Route Map Linked Below: Expect a ~2 hr joy ride of 11miles, with 2 stops to dance, hydrate, and cool down (bring your own bevvies - there is no store stop). * Ride is a loop. (Nearly the same as last year - I’m a sucker for this route.) * We will be taking a a couple major streets briefly, and a bridge!

Do you know what it takes to make this a great ride? - We will need corkers (and those who are cork curious.)
- Loud speakers (for music.)
- And of course you! (It’s not as good by myself.)

Got a decent speaker? BRING IT! In past years we’ve tried to sync the speakers... Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a “Jam.” I’ll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to Robyn only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn’t.)

Sometimes we need an audience to feel like we’re making sense. Dress your Robyn fantasy - work up a vibe.

Be sure to bring water (you’re not indestructible) and snacks/beverages - there will NOT be a store stop. We’ll be riding into the sun(set) - remember to charge your bike lights so you can light up, light up the way to your heart. taken in Irving Park by @aeringrievances

Next up on our weekend on improv - Sat August 22nd join the Nancy Boys for another brand new mystery.

Who are the Nancy Boys?

Brother detectives Frank and Joe Nancy are always eager to take on a case - no matter the size. What mystery could arise in the idyllic town of Gayport?

Whether it’s investigating with good friends or being thrust into unfamiliar circumstances. These amateur sleuths have the brains, brawn, and gusto to take on even the most hardened criminals. Will this get them into trouble or lead them to satisfying climax? That’s all up to you!

Improvisers Nick & Justin Condon take audience suggestions and turn them into a cheeky narrative mystery. Meet a slew of characters, all performed by only two actors. You won’t want to miss another hilarious and never-before-seen mystery as the married duo creates and shares a goofy cast of characters.

SUN July 26th - 8pm

We're celebrating a favorite cult classic - the Josie & the Pussycats movie! I wish I had just 3 Small Words about this movie - but it's just too good to keep it short. This movie exists in a strange place. It did terribly at the box office, but the soundtrack was largely successful, and that's what we're here to jam to. Famously voiced by Letters to Cleo front-woman Kay Hanley as Josie (played by Rachel Leigh Cook in the movie), the soundtrack hits the pop-punk genre perfectly and is filled with plenty of ear worms. It's a relatively short album, so this short sunset route seemed a perfect fit.

Dress up in animal print, y2k fashion, or anything that makes you feel comfortable.

Route Map Linked Below:
Expect an ~30 min joy ride of 3 miles.
* Ride is a not a loop.
* Scenic Dog Bowl sunset route!

Do you know what it takes to make this a great ride?
- We will need corkers (and those who are cork curious.)
- Loud speakers (for music.)
- And of course you! (It's not as good by myself.)

Got a decent speaker? BRING IT! Curated Josie & the Pussycats playlist available on Tidal at the link below. Not a fan of Spotify, but the service does offer a convenient way to link our speakers in a "Jam." I'll be utilizing this feature to link speakers if folks would like to. Not syncing with the Jam? All I ask is that you limit the music to Josie & the Pussycats only, and that you turn down your music when it conflicts with a louder speaker (you can turn it back up when it doesn't.)

Be sure to bring water and snacks/beverages - there will NOT be a store stop. We'll be riding into the sun(set) - remember to charge your bike lights for the ride home.

BANNED RIDERS: If you are banned from any rides, you are also banned from this ride.
This ride will be a safer space for 2SLGBTQIA+ and bipoc folks with a zero tolerance policy for non-consent, discrimination, or phobic behavior. Never record others or take pictures without a person's verbal consent (no is a complete answer.) Smart glasses (Meta/Google/Whatever) are not allowed on this ride.

“Thanks for coming…”
*Madonna Confessions Voice*

We had a mighty crew show out for @freakuencyblu and my (co-hosted) Madonna: Confessions on a Bike Ride for @pedalpaloozapdx

Madonna really brought out the dancer in all of us with this new album and we couldn’t deny that the queen of pop herself deserves a ride this year. “We’ve got somethin’ we wanna bike about.”

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Queen, and for all the bystanders who embraced Madonna as we brought our Confessions I & II listening party to the streets.

I’m (Peter Pansy on the calendar) hosting a series of bike rides during Pedalpalooza celebrating Girl Power this summer - check out the last slide or Link in Bio for the list of rides. See you on the dance floor (bike).

Throwback to when Twirl was only an indoor party at the Kenton Club. 😱

Halloween for a lot of folks is their only chance to dress up and explore their self expression outside of gender “norms.” As a kid it was one of the few times I could wear a dress and makeup in public without feeling like some kind of “gender deviant.”

Getting older I’ve been able to break that down a bit more for myself. The gender rules that we abide by are nonsensical and only serve to limit our self expression and individuality. The world needs us to show up with our freak flags waving high. None of us fits into a cookie cutter ideal of a person.

As a result of exploring my perceived gender boundaries I’ve discovered more of who I really am. My self expression is more honest, and free. That journey hardly feels over, but my spirit is lighter and more joyful.

This Halloween try coloring outside the gender lines a bit more freely. And who knows, maybe you’ll start deconstructing your gender in a way that helps you feel more like yourself every damn day. 👻

Here’s something new, shining a spotlight on myself. Trying to highlight who I am outside of the Nancy Boys. I mean… this look is too good to keep buried in Twirl photos. Especially with the earring action? @tomofportland captured some magic there.

I think this picture perfectly encapsulates my gender expression these days - very genderqueer. So if you see me on the streets hit me with they/them pronouns.

Cheers to cultivating something new. 🌸 taken in Kenton Club by @aeringrievances
