Pre-Audition Workshops will take place on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at 7:30pm and auditions will be held Friday, August 21st, 2026 at 7:30pm (with registration opening at 7:00pm).

📣🧡 Afta Shock Showcase - June 26th

We have been hard at work creating something special and we cannot wait to share it with you all. Afta Shock is hosting our first ✨Afta Hours Therapy✨ fundraising showcase, featuring performances across the arts from troupe members and invited guests. But it is much more than a performance showcase, our intent is to create an experience that highlights the beauty of expression for both those creating art and observers.

This event is inspired by the idea that dance, and the arts, is refuge after the obligations of our daily lives. It is our outlet, source of inspiration, and avenue for expression that keeps us well mentally, physically, and emotionally. It helps us show up for ourselves and to engage and connect within our communities.

Join us for an evening filled with performances that inspire, engage, and remind us of the power of creative expression and community.

Explore local artists and vendors, connect with community members – dive in and immerse yourself in an atmosphere that welcomes vulnerability, fosters wellness, celebrates artistry, and reminds you that you belong.

After all, sometimes the best therapy happens Afta Hours. ✨

Teammate Spotlight with Afta Shock San Diego 🧡🧡🧡

🎙️ Featured Dancers:

Nikita - brings her expressive fashion style to every rehearsal and performance! She embodies her expression and passions through her dancing which you can see in her projects.

Yvonne - a beast on the dance floor, one of Afta’s youngest members, and Afta’s resident baker! She breaks down walls with her sarcasm and humor, and always welcomes her teammates along for some spontaneity and adventure!

Through dance, both Nikita and Yvonne have found refuge and a sense of community through the connections and experiences of dancing throughout their lives. It’s also been a way for each to work through challenges and find motivation when things are difficult. It reminds us to show up even when things are heavy, we’ll leave better for it. by @aftashocksd

AftaShock’s favorite siblings duo! 👯‍♀️

Emily - brings attitude, confidence, energy, and facials to every rehearsal and performance! When you watch her perform, her energy commands the room.

Mary - lights up the room with her positive energy, is a source of creativity and is always intentional with what she brings and how she shows up for the team.

Together, Emily and Mary find and appreciate the joy in the in-between moments - before, during and after rehearsals. Aside from the dancing, it’s about the people, the experiences, and growth along the way.

The Pacio family highlights a really special thing we experience at [ @cultureshock.trainingacademy ] – multigenerational dance. We can be in class with kids from 8 to 88, and not even think twice about it. Afta Shock members get to witness and experience this feeling first hand at every rehearsal where dad Rey Rey and daughters Emily and Mary share the dance floor and energy as members of the same troupe.

Though each have their own story and journey, the dance floor and stage are not only places to connect as dancers but also to nourish family bonds through movement.

Jona - Aftashock’s Official Team Diva 👑, and we love every second of it! Jona brings confidence, energy, and personality with just the right touch of drama. He keeps the energy high and the team entertained.

For Jona, dance is a way to connect to his joy and passion – proving that his body is capable of expression through movement each time he’s on the dance floor. His journey and presence within our dance community is a special testament to the inclusive and safe space (@cultureshock.trainingacademy ) provides for all people.

Reva - makes you feel right at home and cared for with her warm and inviting spirit, full of heart for the entire team. She’s quick with her jokes (and bars), always bringing the laughs - and when it’s time to dance, she’s an absolute powerhouse on the dance floor.

Dance has provided Reva with balance in a busy life – something she can do just for her that allows her a positive outlet and escape from the hustle of daily life.
