POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Week 2 Day 3 SBD
Last slide story time for anyone who cares. Anyways this meet, while just a qualifier, was made possible by a whole lot of people. So that’s what the first slide is for.
@kd.kgz for believing in the possibility of ag.60kg and seeing it through.
@pegkey_ for the sauna that I left a part of my soul in and the 5am MVB adventures.
@sophiaegger12543 for making sure I didn’t die in said sauna and helping me get here (literally via car) and loading our plates.
And to everyone and especially those at MVB who watched me see this through with nothing but words of encouragement and affirmations that I was probably insane for doing this.

And @zac_schiffman dude I made weight so make a splash in the 67s at regionals.

Today was my 60 kg (132.2 lb) debut, and this started about 12 weeks ago where @kd.kgz and I talked about potentially dropping from 67.5 kg (148 lb), mostly my idea. Over the last 12ish weeks we cut from 152 to 139, then to 132.27 in the last 16 hours. Top end strength dropped a bit, especially with almost missing the cutoff for weigh-ins (10 minutes before weigh in closed) and the rehydration and refeed protocol being delayed by over 80 minutes. Learned a lot about the acute water manipulation, refeed and rehydration, and I’m a lot more ready to implement it perfectly at Regionals. We survived our trip to 60 (literally 59.95 kg). Time to do this again in 6 weeks. by @ag.caffeinated

USAPL Long Island Championships
67.5 kg Junior 🥇 Open 🥈

Prep this time around was tough. Between working full time nights and crack of dawn lifting sessions, it took a lot of getting used to. But clearly, this was a step in the right direction.

Thank you Kartika for chalking my back and pulling this all together on the platform. To my family, for your support in this glorified hobby and buying chicken breast from Costco. To my friends both in and out of this powerlifting space, for your encouragement of my delusion to one day be great and for taking my unwashed knee sleeves off.

We’ve still got some work to do. Regionals isn’t gonna win itself.

Timberhead Barbell Strike
435 kg // 953 lb @ 66.5 kg. 7/9 today, 56 lb meet PR.
The goal for this meet was to absolutely drain the tank, and that’s (mostly) what happened.
Squat: 308-330-347❌
Bench: 176-187❌-187
Deadlifts: 397-418-441
The last couple of days before the meet, the deadlift opener got discussed and it got moved from 385 to 397, allowing this magnificent buildup to 200 🔑// 441

Thank you to @fairfieldbarbellclub community for all of your support and commitment to having this sport stay so active in our university, especially to my fellow board members. Thank you @hellhounds.strength.athletics and @kurtisbone1865 for the space to get stronger, for supporting us as athletes and as people, and for putting up with our shenanigans between sets. Thank you @_giancarlo_g @gian_kilo for your commitment to 2 meet preps in 25 weeks. And thank you to everyone who has supported the team through me or anyone else. Your presence in the room added fuel to the fire.

This is just the beginning of FUBC, and I’m excited to see this team grow. by @ag.caffeinated
