Mabel qualifies for the @agilitynexus UK Championship FINAL! A clear 4th place against some ridiculously cool and experienced partnerships on a course that is way above her pay grade. She’s still a Level 1 Nexus dog and G3 KC dog and still so young. So proud of her 🥺

Day 2 of @winwin_dogs x @stephbest101 camp. Blown away with how she’s handled such a step up in sequence difficulty at 17 months old. Really feeling like a ‘proper agility dog’ now! I’ve learned loads with how to handle her too. Super fun couple of days with a great group 😊 by @agilityjames

SO PROUD OF THIS DOG! 🖤 After 4 rounds, we qualified for the British Agility Championship Final - and then ran clear and placed 11th in it! My target coming was to just show what we could do and get a feel for a tournament format. Winston completely smashed my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with him.

Things I’ve learned from my first BAC:
- We can definitely compete on the toughest courses and hold our own.
- My dog is amazing, super consistent and I can push him and myself more.
- I can do this at this level, and should confidently attack courses more.
- Need to bring that running Dog Walk in asap to make us more competitive.
- Winston was built for Pentathlon competitions and I need to enter CSJ next year too.

Results:
7th Championship Agility 1
22nd Championship Jumping 1
16th Championship Agility 2
22nd Championship Jumping 2
—
15th Overall

11th Championship Final
7th Overall WAO Pentathlon Table

Thank you to Jen Lewis, Tina Davies, the Freymor Dogs crew and all the people I’ve trained with this last year. If you’d told me we would have progressed this much in the last 12 months, I would never have believed it. Can’t wait to see what else we can achieve next year now and keep improving 🤩 Thanks for filming @swiftlymills 🫶🏻

Thank you for some amazing courses @janegileide - always a pleasure to run when you judge 🙏🏻

How cool are these?? Flying at Evolution Agility Show!
....And what looks like an “on course chat” between teammates about the route we should be going in 🤣

Back from Evolution. What a great show! My first time there but certainly not the last. Amazing venue, every course I ran was really fun and the weather came out to play too (mostly 😅). ☀️ I think this could well be a new staple show in the calendar.

No results to report. “One-thing-itus” was a huge issue this weekend and ruined plenty of otherwise immaculate runs 🫠🫠🫠 Sticking to criteria and redoing things.. very painful and frustrating throwing runs like that in the short term but will teach us both a lot on the long run and make us a much more consistent team.

Still loved our runs though and had a fab weekend. It’s close to coming together more regularly, trust the process. 😅 by @agilityjames

Garden session on weave exit discrimination and reminding her to listen for cues. 🫶🐴☁️

Her understanding of verbal cues is really strong. Just need more practice putting them into courses at speed! by @agilityjames

A Clear Agility 2nd Place and Clear Jumping 3rd Place at North Derbyshire DAC yesterday.

A month away from competing (holidays and judging appointments!) feels like it’s done us some good and we felt the most connected we have in the ring. Hopefully the start of it coming together and developing some consistency!

Thanks to Adam Watson, Debbie Tedds, @agility_at_wagtails and Amy Gandy for Judging. Fun courses to run! by @agilityjames

Mabel went on a fun staycation with @swiftlymills and her gang last week whilst we were in Finland and Estonia for my birthday. Lots of walks, acting like a feral puppy with her BFF crew and even some agility training... I’m not sure she wanted to come home tbh 😂 Thanks for taking such great care of her Becca 🤎 by @agilityjames

A fun course running afternoon with some friends. Based on a cool @dannyboy1317 A3 Agility course, loved breaking it down and running this!

We’ve not done much in the way of full courses recently so was great to get back to working on our timing and putting hard skills together back to back. She felt very cool today on a tricky course 🤩 by @agilityjames

What. A. Weekend! Home from two days of Judging in Lisburn, Northern Ireland for the @draiochtagilityshows x @agilitynexus show with @neil_ellis .

15 courses designed for all Levels, some Nexus Pro Classes and both the courses for the special Draíocht Finals . It was a LOT to pull together but I can’t thank Neil enough for mentoring me through it.

I felt so welcomed and met loads of great people over the weekend. Such a positive environment to Judge in and I just loved seeing people embracing trying something a bit different with the types of courses they were running. I’ve not always had great experiences Judging at shows this year with (a small minority) of competitors being very resistant to trying the types of courses I like to create but weekends like this really validate that sticking to my guns and design principles for the style of agility I want to encourage is the right thing.

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to @bw_agility , @janemaitland1 and everyone who helped set up all the courses and run our rings with us. I had such a laugh and loved the sassy attitude. You should be proud of that show and the community you have over there. It feels very special and also just like the beginning of something even bigger. I hope to see you all again soon!

A special mention for Jamie Wright and @rainbeau_dog_toys who drove over to compete there and helped me SO MUCH with course set ups and general ring management. A huge congratulations to Jamie for a stonking clear 1st place in the Medium Draíoght Final too. I felt that one with you!

And Neil. The trust you showed in me yet again with inviting me to Judge such an important event to you and the organisation you’ve created with @qmeagility means a lot. I can’t understate how thankful I am for the Nexus Judging Programme and the knowledge that was on offer there to develop me from a completely fresh canvas with no appointments into Judging Finals and Pro Classes for you. I recommend it to anyone who asks and will continue to do so - I’ll just have to warn them what an insufferable winner Neil is at crazy golf at the same time 🤣

Here are my courses from Sunday. Saturday courses on my previous post. Big love x taken in Lisburn, Northern Ireland by @agilityjames
