seven days in june by tia williams

my, my, my. tia williams the woman you are. shane and eva aren’t just two old friends reminiscing on a high school love story. they are onions and each layer of their character adds to what makes them a match made in heaven. the story telling was top tier. from the cultural references, to the inner thought of characters… 10/10 no notes.

audre, i love you. you are me. i am you. wise beyond your years.

the way romance was displayed in the book was so beautiful. like omg pls read if you haven’t. i need another tia williams book in my rotation asap.

the perfect marriage by jeneva rose

last week, i finished my second book of the summer and i give it a 7.5/10. i feel like the ending was a bit rushed. we jumped from a courtroom to his execution day as fast as a page turn. i think the build up to verdict day was too good for the killer to have been bushed over like it was. it’s almost as if readers are expected to read the second part, the perfect divorce, to get some of their unanswered questions.. which isn’t a bad thing but i feel like since it isn’t marketed as “part 1” readers may think all of their questions should be answered in this book.

i saw this on substack the other day and i haven’t been able to get it off my mind since. idk. like so many people are tired and all for different reasons that not everyone can understand. women are tired. black people are tired. new grads are tired. it’s made me start thinking about what i’ll write about next. inspiration literally can come from the smallest things. by @agirlwmanythoughts
