Back in August, I experienced my first hike at elevation to Pettingell Peak, an elevation of 13,559 ft. There were many guest appearances of scampering pika butts, a very majestic marmot, ptarmigans, and the most crisp and delightful moss that requested pets 😍

The first photo may or may not have been foreshadowing for the ensuing altitude sickness to come though 🙈 sometimes symptoms can creep in even after descending from elevation, like in my case. Always make sure to check in with yourself as you go, take breaks as needed, and have plenty of fluids and snacks on hand! Super thankful for thoughtful and supportive friends who lent a helping hand 💚

For a change of scenery, back in June I had the chance to visit a good friend from the NJ days, @kabowerma in Washington! Saw so many incredible places and what a variety of scenery I got to experience, kudos to the best tour guide Kyle 🤩

📍Great Sand Dunes National Park/Núu-agha-tuvu-pu (Ute) land

The desert has always called to me, a vast space that allows for everything and anything to be as it is, to have room to remain or morph into something more. Some of the most profound moments of my life have come from silence in such places. Thankful to be able to experience these wonders on Núu-agha-tuvu-pu (Ute) land.

🦎 @coloradogatorfarm is right around the corner from the park and is home to an amazing array of reptiles and exotic animals that were surrendered and needed homes with the proper care ❤️ so many cuties here!

A little over three months since delving into this next grand adventure and moving across the country ✨ It still boggles my mind that I get to call this place my home ❤️

Colorado has been nothing short of wild, magical, and profound. There have been countless experiences that aligned in such a way that I knew the universe was guiding me to this place and the people here that I now get to call friends.

There was a time when I physically could not run a mile. As I started to train and began seeing myself as an athlete, regardless of my size, I started thinking, “what if I could…?” That question morphed into “I think I can” and then eventually, “god damnit, I WILL.”

After signing up for two half marathons in the last two years and breaking each foot respectively a month before, I knew this was going to be third time’s the charm. AND IT WAS ❤️

What a beautiful decade it has been to share my life with this sweet little bean. Endless squeaks and laughter, you had the brightest and wittiest personality with a heart full of endless love. My Poe Poe, my mini cow, my soccer ball, my little squeaky furball, my chompy monster. With me through so many incredible and hard changes in life. You taught me the meaning of unconditional love. I know you and Winter are together again and waiting over on the other side of the rainbow bridge. May we all be together again one day ❤️🌈 by @ahappybeing

Amidst the chaos of our current climate (of each kind) and fighting as part of the movement of change, I’m also trying to focus on and celebrate moments of joy. How important it is to remind ourselves of the little moments we have as we fight to bring about good in the lives of us and others.
