I wonder what little me would think if she could see my life today. All the places we’ve been, the people we’ve loved, the things we’ve survived, and the wild memories we’ve made along the way.

I hope she’d be proud of who we’re becoming. But more than anything, I hope she’d be happy to know that after everything, we never lost our curiosity, our sense of adventure, or our desire to play.

Time keeps slipping through my fingers, and I can’t hold onto every moment or every version of myself. But I can be more present for the ones I’m experiencing now.

And I think little me would really love that. ❤️

I definitely feel like I’ve lived a lot of life already.

I’ve spent so many years pushing through things, accomplishing the next thing, taking care of people, trying to be strong, trying to make sense of everything that has happened to me. This past year I’ve started realizing how much of my healing is actually learning how to live outside of survival.

I’m learning to listen to myself more. To listen to my body. To say what I’m feeling even when my voice shakes. To stop abandoning parts of myself just to make other people comfortable. To have boundaries and still keep my heart open. To rest without feeling like I need to earn it.

I’m also realizing how much healing I find in really simple things. Being outside. Moving my body. Making art. Playing. Traveling. Loving people. Sitting by water. Climbing trees. Watching the sun come up. Doing things simply because they make me feel alive.

At 36, I don’t feel like I have everything figured out. I actually think I have more questions than I used to lol. But I know myself more deeply than I ever have.

I know what matters to me.
I know how I want my life to feel.
And I trust myself a whole lot more to figure out the rest as I go.

Here’s to 36 🌵

✨✨GIVEAWAY✨✨✨

A couple years ago, I had the pleasure of traveling to Peru with my dear friend @lynetteleven , who hosted a retreat that forever changed the trajectory of my life.

Here I learned how to sit in silence, to breathe, to reconnect with nature and with the parts of myself that had been screaming for my attention for so long. I fell back in love with myself. I felt deeply held by Pachamama and inspired by everything I learned about the ancient civilizations and traditions of Peru.

What I took home with me was the understanding that sometimes we need to intentionally step outside of our everyday lives to actually hear ourselves again. To slow down. To create. To connect. To remember the parts of ourselves that get buried underneath all the noise.

This Saturday, September 5th, I’m excited to invite one person to join me for a magical, intentionally curated day retreat hosted by the same beautiful human who helped create that experience for me in Peru. ✨

Think of it as a little taste of retreat life without having to fly across the world ✨ an afternoon dedicated to presence, creativity, connection, movement, music, and whatever might unfold when you give yourself permission to simply be for a while. ❤️

Some of you may have noticed I kind of disappeared from this page for a while. 😅

The last few months of my bachelor’s were time consuming, Arizona got HOT, life got busy, and Hike & Heal ended up on the back burner for a bit. But I never lost the vision I have for this space.

Now that I’ve started my Master’s in Counseling, I actually feel even more inspired to come back to it… hopefully with a little more knowledge and definitely a lot more I want to talk about. 😂

Hike & Heal was never meant to only be about hiking. It’s about sharing knowledge and creating connection—with ourselves, each other, nature, and the parts of ourselves that can get lost in everyday life.

So while group hikes might stay on pause until Arizona decides to stop being 1000 degrees outside 🥵, I’m bringing this page back to life. I want to share more of my life experiences and what I’m learning about psychology, mental health, nature, healing, play, creativity, community, and whatever else comes up along the way.

I’m still learning too. That’s kind of the point. 🌱

I found out last week that my aunt Nay Nay passed away, and this is my first time sharing about it publicly. She was like another mother to me and so I wanted to take some time and create something really special in her honor.

Making this collage had me going through old journals, photos, report cards, awards, and memories I hadn’t looked at in years. It reminded me that this graduation carries so much more meaning than just finishing a degree.

A lot of who I am was shaped by people who believed in me before I ever fully believed in myself.

Grief has a really strange way of making you look back with more compassion. More understanding. More gratitude.

This post is for my aunt, for the little version of me in those journal entries, and for every person who helped shape me along the way.

Forever grateful for the amount of love and support in my life. And the amount of guardian angels I have watching over me❤️ by @ahenderstar
