Meet the bookstagrammer!!! I can’t believe I’ve had this book account for two years and never formally said hi!! Over the past couple of months, I’ve had a chance to talk and get to know some of you and it’s been really lovely, so I thought I would share some facts about me: . Hi I’m Becky! . Thirtysomething . Dog mum . Disney adult . Author TBD (I hope) . Future High Princess of Spring ☺️ . I blame my parents for making me a reader (scholastic book fairs and summers spent in the library) . Feel free to swipe to see my favourite book series, Disney things, and tv series (I’m obsessed with Austen adaptations), films and music (carpenter for life)!! Thank you for letting me share my favourites with you!! Let me know one of your favourite things and if we have a favourite thing in common 📚✨ . . . . . #bookstagrammer #book #favouritethings #disneyadult #bookstagram favourite book series, favourite film, the other bennet sister, Sabrina carpenter, laufey, musicals, lost in Austen, pretty smart, memoirs of a geisha, the wedding planner, ever after a Cinderella story, Disney parks, book boyfriend, book tattoo, hunchback of Notre dame, home on the range, pirates of the Caribbean, the cruel prince, beasts of the briar, once upon a broken heart, throne of glass, meet the bookstagrammer, just wanted to say hi, introduce myself, books, read a book, who misses scholastic book fairs, tropes, thursday, April, spring by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
Let’s pretend episode one didn’t happen… I will find any excuse to not read a book, especially when I’ve vowed on the internet that I will unhaul a book if I don’t read it 🙈 but I feel like episode two has been kind to me, and has decided to give me my favourite genre!! Will I actually read these books? I’m 80% sure I will, and that’s better than 0% (yes episode one, I’m looking at you), and I feel like it’s about time I read Half City and Phantasma. So it might just be a successful episode 👀 What book do you really want to read in November or December? 📚✨ . #endlesstbrtask #tbr #romantasy #book #bookstack half city Kate golden Phantasma kaylie smith the witch in the dead of night Charlotte Buckley daughter of no worlds Carissa Broadbent fantasy romantasy book series book challenge reading challenge tbr books tbr challenge book picks popular books fantasy series romantasy series new books read a book reading genre author Monday November autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
BLAME THE SLUMP!! I can’t believe it’s the end of October already (it’s also my sister’s birthday today 🎉), and it’s time for another wrap up. I know I’m technically a day early, but I’m out on an adventure tomorrow, so I thought I would post my wrap up today instead ☺️ As we all know, my reading slump absolutely kicked my butt this month and made finishing books a mammoth task (I would like to apologise to my buddy readers for my lack of reading). Could it be because I decided to read five books at once? Possibly. Could it be because my birthday sends me into a spiral? Most definitely. But nonetheless, I’m still happy that I got to read three incredible books this month 📚 Now, if you do scroll through and see the books I didn’t read this month slide, I would like you to blame the slump entirely. Also, if you’re looking at some of those books and thinking ‘wait, aren’t they part of your endless tbr task challenge?’ You would be correct, and my very valid (at least to me) excuses are coming in a reel very soon 🙈 What was your favourite book you read in October? 📚✨ . . #octoberwrapup #readingwrapup #fantasy #book #novembertbr stay for a spell runebreaker her roots reclaimed what fury brings the emperors enemy glow of the everflame stolen by shadows fantasy romantasy October wrap up books I read in October books I recommend cosy fantasy arc book review book selection November tbr books I want to read author genre spooky season Halloween weekend Friday October autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
I know there’s no ghosts… But I don’t have any ghosts 😭 I did plan on going out and getting some, but I’m a hermit who never leaves the house, so I decided to do something a little different 👀 Thank you @fairytales.and.fantasy for tagging me in her incredible spooky stack - please go and check it out if you haven’t already 👻 and as I have a lack of ghosties, I decided to be inspired by a haunted house 🎃 The Haunted Mansion is one of my favourite Disney attractions, so of course it was my inspiration. I chose all the books on my shelves that gave haunting, spirits, Madame Leota (IYKYK), and just general spookiness! It’s not the perfect spooky stack, but I promise I’ll have ghosts for next year 👻 What are your plans for Halloween? 👻🎃📚✨ . . #halloween #bookstack #stackchallenge #fantasy #book arcana academy prince of swords half city rose in chains phantasma daughter of no worlds Elise kova Kate golden Julie soto kaylie smith Carissa Broadbent fantasy stack romantasy stack book stack book stack challenge fantasy book romantasy book haunted house haunted mansion trope book author enemies to lovers academy magic Monday October autumn spooky season by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
MY PHANTOM LOVING HEART IS SCREAMING!! As someone who has loved The Phantom of the Opera since the dawn of time, and who actually wrote a fanfic of it as one of her earliest writing escapades (true story), I was so excited when I discovered Our Strange Duet by @penchant4words 🌹 A new story with my favourites, and I get to listen to the soundtrack (including that iconic overture) while reading it - yes, thank you, take my money!! I will say, I don’t think it is mandatory to listen to the music, but why wouldn’t you?!?! This special edition is new to my collection, but I think she might be my number one favourite. That sprayed edge of Christine, is unlike anything I have ever seen before. She’s so vibrant on my shelf, that I spend 99.9% of my time staring at her. The end pages as well - they did what they did with this edition, and I am so grateful for it. There’s also a ribbon bookmark inside, which is a bonus! Fun fact: I’ve had this rose with a black ribbon on my shelf for absolute years, and now it has a matching book 🌹 Are you a musical fan? Chapter 34 🎂✨ It’s officially my least favourite day of the year, but being fortunate to grow another year older is worth celebrating. I used to love my birthday, but as I’ve gotten older and things have happened, I lost the joy for it. So much so, that my mental health is at its lowest around this time (I was literally lying on the kitchen floor last night unable to move - fun right). But today I’m spending it with the pups bed rotting, and I can’t think of anything I’d like more 🐶 I don’t want this post to be all doom and gloom, especially as I’m grateful that my 33rd year has given me a lovely book community and bookish friends. It also featured an autism diagnosis, a trip to Hong Kong/Disneyland, and smashing my reading goal for the year/reading the most books I’ve ever read in a year (so far). As for the book, I chose Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber to mark this new year, as I’m so sad I missed her talk last night (again, shoutout to that menty b). As you may know, I love this series so much, and to have the new novella of Jacks and Evangeline, is honestly a dream 💛 I just need this slump to go away so I can read it!! What’s your favourite activity to do on your birthday? 📚✨ . . #book #onceuponabrokenheart #birthday #stephaniegarber #fantasy book birthday post today is my birthday once upon a broken heart the ballad of never after a curse for true love Stephanie Garber the mirror of infinite endings jacks evangeline the fates magic the magnificent north chaos lala bookish favourite book series favourite book books chapter author genre trope Wednesday October autumn spooky season by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
This slump is slumping!! So, seen as I’m unable to finish a book, whether on my TBR or not, I thought I’d recommend them instead! I had every intention of doing another episode of Set the Date or Just Mates, but the slump doesn’t want me to have anymore book boyfriends 😭 so I randomly came up with this idea, and I hope you enjoy it (and not just because I filmed it like 12 times - I’m not even exaggerating 🙈) Each book is a different genre/sub genre (which was completely by coincidence), and all should be added to your TBR’s immediately. As we know, I’m terrible at reviewing and explaining books, but I hope at least one of my three reasons inspires you to to read one of these ☺️ What book would you recommend to add to my TBR? 📚✨ . #addtoyourtbr #bookreview #bookrecs #fantasy #romance cosy fantasy YA romantasy add these books to your tbr book recommendations bonded by thorns Elizabeth Helen beasts of the briar series hopeless necromantic Shiloh briar heir of storms storm weaver lauryn Hamilton Murray stay for a spell Amy coombe the very definition of love Sophia Benoit book series standalone read these books read a book read this book reading genre author trope Monday October autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
I NEED YOUR HELP!!! Have I mentioned it’s my birthday next week? Probably, a least a million times, even though I don’t like my birthday. But with being another year older, comes a great excuse to buy more books!! Unfortunately for me and my impulse buying self, I just treat myself to books all the time. So it means that when my birthday comes around, I have no idea what books to buy… So, I’m hoping you can suggest any books that you think I should read or add to my physical tbr, and then I’ll pick up the books when I go book shopping for my birthday 🥳 I’m open to any genres, so please give me your best recommendations (the ones pictured are options too) What book would you recommend for my birthday book haul? 📚✨ . #bookrecommendations #bookhaul #birthdaybooks #book pickabook pick my birthday book haul choose a book fantasy romantasy romance genre author book haul birthday read a book fantasy series romantasy series immortal rose swordheart gravewood sea of charms a court of Venus new books new releases help me choose challenge weekend Saturday October autumn spooky season by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
I READ A BOOK!! Ok fine, I read it last month - but, it still counts seen as I’m incapable of finishing a book at the moment… This isn’t going to be a conventional book review, as I’m usually terrible at them (at least I think I am). So here are some afterthoughts after a month: . Callum still gives me the ick . Team Blake every day!!!!!!!!!!!!! . The indecision of Aurora wasn’t my favourite, but I guess she’s figuring things out as we are too . I honestly don’t remember half of what happened, but I would also like to be claimed by Blake and wear his jewellery . That ending was very very good - I still love the bit where Aurora tells Blake I hate you, and he’s like oh I know 😂 . Did I mention Blake? So my summary of The Wolf King, is that I loved every scene with Blake in, and I wasn’t a fan of the ones he wasn’t. I’m interested to see if I become more invested in the plot of The Night Prince, and if it’s another quick read like this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all round for this one! It’s getting spooky!! 🎃 There’s just something about purple and green that screams spooky season to me. And no, I’m not just saying that because I had this stack in my photos to post, nor the use of my favourite skeleton, Benjamin 👀 the colour combination just gives that vibe and I’m here for it! Thank you to the incredible @books__and_babble for tagging me in her green and purple stack challenge - go and check it out, and all of her other insanely stunning stacks✨I love doing a stack challenge, and it’s also good for when you’re not feeling that creative and you need some guidance. I do have more I need to do, which reminds me, I really need to make a list… I’ve only read two of the books in this stack, but both were phenomenal reads: Hopeless Necromantic and A Dance of Lies. I’m still stuck on chapter three of The Poison Daughter, but I promise I will get back to it soon 🙈 I’ve yet to read the other three, but I am excited for all of them, if not a little hesitant (yes, I’m looking at your The Lure of Wolves and Whispers) What colour combination gives you spooky vibes? 📚✨ . . #bookstack #bookchallenge #book #fantasy #sprayededge fairyloot waterstones hopeless necromantic the lilac library a rather vengeful accord a dance of lies deaths daughter the lure of wolves and whispers the poison daughter sprayed edges special edition limited edition romantasy fantasy fantasy book romantasy stack book stack stack of books book stack challenge genre author spooky season weekend Friday October autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
It’s another sweaty reel!! Well, at least it was sweaty yesterday. And it’s like the weather heard my moaning, and decided to make today rainy and cloudy, so at least we now have that 🍂 I’m unhauling 18 books, 10 I’ve read and 8 I haven’t. I know some readers like to unhaul books and others don’t, but unhauling books is a great thing. It means you can donate any books that you’re not a fan of or are unsure if you’ll read, and have more space for the ones you love. I’m sorry if my point about readers buying books from charity shops isn’t clear. I just wanted to point out that donating hardbacks and special editions, is a great way for readers to access books that they might not have been able to, due to price, subscriptions, or sold out from Waterstones etc. Do you like to unhaul books and how often do you do it? 📚✨ . . #book #bookunhaul #fantasy #romantasy #donatebooks the unicorn hunters dire bound this vicious hunger Katabasis under loch and key verity guild Fairyloot special edition the crimson moth the rebel witch on wings of blood nemesis mine fantasy books romantasy books book series duology witches vampires Loch Ness monster monster romance blood of Hercules Greek mythology romance book genre author read a book shelf clear out Wednesday October autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
IT’S CHRISTMAS TO ME!! 🎄 In case you’re wondering, yes I have gone insane, thank you for asking ☺️ look, don’t get me wrong, I love a spooky season full of ghosties, pumpkins, and any excuse to fill yourself on treats. And I’m also an October baby (two weeks and counting 🎉), so spooky season is a good one 🍂 BUT, Christmas is not only my absolute favourite time of year, but I’m also going on a magical holiday in December and I need to be on that plane now 😭 I’m literally counting down (I have two countdowns) the days until I’m surrounded by magic, snoap, and in one of my favourite places✨ so to me, it’s now Christmas - sorry Halloween 🎃 This is the @fairyloot edition of The Swan’s Daughter by @roshanichokshi and it’s so stunning!! This purchase is 100% @books_by_geda fault, who after giving this book the most amazing review (check it out if you haven’t), and then telling me that it feels like you’re in a fairytale that you don’t want to leave - how could I not buy it!! The art of this book is giving winter vibes, and I’m here for it! I’m so excited to be buried under a fluffy blanket, surrounded by my messy half packed suitcases, and getting lost in this book before I get to experience magic in real life✨ What book did a bookish friend make you buy? 📚✨ . . #fairyloot #theswansdaughter #ya #fantasy #book roshani chokshi the swans daughter young adult Fairyloot ya box Fairyloot book special edition end pages sprayed edges book I need to read seasonal read seasonal book winter book bookish books special edition book character art romantasy fantasy fairytale genre author bookstagram book recommendations bookstagram made me buy it bookish books special review book subscription Monday October autumn by @ahermitwhoreadsbooks
