Simon had a skills camp at Rutgers this weekend, so we turned it into a Jersey day and brought Chip along with us. We spent a perfect Sunday with Mom & Dad Horta while the boys did their football thing. Ceci and Chip had a ball swimming in the pool. He discovered the current around the edge and happily rode it in circles, keeping us all laughing. The boys joined us later, Simon proudly showing off his Offensive MVP trophy, and we ended the day with more swimming, dinner, and family time. There’s something really special about watching your kids make memories in the same backyard where their dad grew up. ❤️ Looks like Grandpa is going to have to keep opening the pool every summer… if for no one else, at least for Chip! 💙🐾 taken in Hightstown, New Jersey by @ahorta723

Happy 70th Birthday to my mama! We had one unforgettable birthday weekend. ❤️ A trip to New York, La Traviata at the Met, delicious Thai food, lots of laughs, a terrifying thunderstorm drive home, and cake from Eli’s to finish it all off.

Cheers to 70 incredible years, Mom. Thank you for your love, support, and the countless memories you’ve given us.

Ceci, I am so incredibly proud to be your mom. You are one of the kindest, most empathetic, creative old souls I know. You truly are a gift to everyone around you—and to this world. Your musical talent continues to blow my mind and move me in ways I can’t even put into words.

On Wednesday morning, our family lost one of the greatest human beings in the world — my beloved Ciocia Tereska. After an incredible 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer, she left us with a legacy of strength, humor, love, and creativity that will never be forgotten.

If you ever had the joy of stepping into Teresa’s Hair Fantasy, you knew it was more than a salon — it was her stage, her sanctuary, and sometimes, mine too. I had the honor of working as her assistant more than once, especially during times when I was struggling and needed a job. Without hesitation, she took me in — just like she always did for the people she loved.

The jokes, the singing, the drama — it was the best entertainment in the world. She made every work day an experience, and I can’t count how many people told me I looked like her… to which I proudly agreed (she never let anyone forget she was the best-looking sibling!).

Ciocia had the biggest, boldest heart. She loved being creative — whether it was hair, crafting late into the night or making her beautiful handmade rosaries. Passing that tradition on to me is a gift I will forever treasure and honor.

The sleepovers, the pool parties, the family gatherings, the unforgettable work shifts — all those memories now feel like sacred treasures. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the time we had. She brought humor and light into every situation, no matter how dark it seemed.

She was magic. Fierce, funny, generous, and completely one-of-a-kind. My heart is broken, but it’s also full — because I got to know, love, laugh with, and be loved by Ciocia Tereska.
