Part 4 of 4 🔊 Finishing off the WingTree switch series with the Yuying V2 Linear. The Yuying V2 has a really unique feel for a linear. It has a dry, textured stroke with some noticeable scratch throughout, giving it a more characterful feel compared to a typical smooth linear. Sound-wise, these lean towards the clacky and higher-pitched side. They have a crisp sound on the downstroke and a nice sharp bottom-out that works really well in a more open build. Part 3 of 4 Wingtree switch test. The Yuying v2 tactile switch! This one’s got Wingtree’s newer textured mold and sits similar to an MX Brown in feel. On my Neo65 Core Plus it types smooth overall, with just a touch of scratch coming through rather than a fully sandy feel. Crisp tactile bump, and the bottom-out stays focused instead of getting loud or sharp. Genuinely enjoyable to type on, this one’s a keeper for me. Part 2 of 4 from Wingtree 🌸 Up next is the Wingtree Camellia Light Tactile, a switch built around a dry, sandy tactile feel with a noticeable texture through the stroke and a crisp, slightly clacky sound. (You might see “un-named” in the reel that’s because it’s before they named the switch) The Camellia uses a 16mm single-stage spring with three different bottom-out options, so there’s a weight to suit different preferences. Specs: • Light tactile switch • 2.4 ± 0.2mm pre-travel • 4.0 ± 0.2mm total travel • 16mm single-stage spring • 47g / 53g / 63g bottom-out options • Modified POM stem • PA66 top & bottom housing • 5-pin PCB mount • Factory lubed The factory lube is designed to keep the tactile event crisp while reducing unwanted high-frequency noise, without taking away that dry, sandy character that makes these switches interesting. 🌸 @wingtree_switch_official Camellia | Sound Test Kicking off my 4 part WingTree switch series with the Camellia. These are really scratchy and clacky. The Dry version leaves the stem and housing untouched, giving them a much more pronounced scratchy feel and a crisp, lively sound. I went with the 58g Dry version for this test. I put these in my New Neo65 core plus with Alu plate! 🖤 PT Black. Smooth, clean and seriously satisfying. Built the Weikav Nut65 with the Pantheon x TTC PT Black linears, paired with an Aluminium plate and no foams. They have that classic MX Black inspired feel, but with a slightly lighter weight that makes them really comfortable to type on. This board POPS. 💛 I’ve finally built up my GDK NV-70 in Spray Coated Yellow, paired with an Aluminium plate and no foams. For switches, I went with the HMX Hydra Tactiles. They give the build a crispy, lively feel and sound that works really well with the more open, no-foam setup. Then paired it with the PBTfans Pelican R2 keycaps from KBDfans. The colourway works really well with the bright yellow case, adding some contrast without being too much. The result is a bold but clean build that really stands out. Gateron Root Beer Float switches 🍺 Okay… these surprised me. I’ve got the Root Beer Floats in my Weikav Nut65 with an FR4 plate and all the foams, and the sound is seriously deep and thocky. The tactile bump is satisfying, the weight feels great, and paired with this board they make for an insanely satisfying typing experience. Definitely one I’d recommend giving a try if you’re into deeper sounding tactiles.
