“EDC is like an adult Disneyland.” 🎆

It’s one of the most common ways people describe EDC, and with EDC Orlando taking place just minutes from Disney World, it felt like the perfect opportunity to lean into that idea.

I’d been wanting to create a vintage Disney-style commercial for EDC Orlando, so I put together a treatment, wrote a cutesy/whimsical script, and dove into studying Disney ads from the 50s through the 80s to capture that nostalgic charm.

Out of the series of concepts I pitched for the Special Projects campaign, this one was easily my favorite to work on! taken in Orlando, Florida by @aikoallan

Spent my 30th birthday in Vancouver, wandering through fairytale-like forests, overindulging on oysters and accidentally stumbling into a Slush Cup competition. We discovered a French-Canadian jazz radio station at our Airbnb that we instantly became enamoured with. In a lot of ways, the music made no sense with the environment, gray skies and wet winds, but on the other hand it perfectly complimented the quiet, peaceful rhythm we had over the weekend. 🇨🇦

Some music festival edits for your feed 👩🏻‍💻🎶

Turning a full weekend of footage into a story can be daunting, especially when there aren’t intentional narrative shots. But that’s also what makes these edits my favorite. Digging through archives, pulling in stock, and building sound design to guide the story gives me the most creative freedom.

For the Day Trip video, a single clip of a lifeguard with binoculars sparked the idea: cutting it into a moment of him scanning the beach for party people heading to Day Trip, with stock footage helping build out the scene and setting of being at the beach.

Hope you guys enjoy these videos as much as I did making them! by @aikoallan
