ONE week from today (February 26th), we will get to hug this handsome guy! Watching your happy son grow into a joyful man is a marvelous “thing” to witness! Wearing the name of Jesus Christ on his chest for two years has brought him so much happiness, peace and perspective!

To each of you in FT. WORTH, TEXAS who has opened your arms, homes and hearts to Elder Patton…THANK YOU!! You have blessed his life BEYOND measure and YOU are forever part of our “family”!! The door is always open in Arizona! 🚪

For you AZ friends and family, reach out if you would like to welcome him home next Thursday! I will share the details!

There are a million things I love and adore about Jye…but, he is just simply good to the core! 25 years ago, these two love birds went to a pharmacy in Paris, bought a pregnancy test and found out they were going to bring a new little firecracker into our family! Under the Eiffel Tower, this mama might have cried (throwing up was no bueno)…but over the years…that precious Hattie has brought so much fire, passion, LOVE, perseverance, empathy, determination and sheer grit into our home! She is fiercely loved and admired by her family (and Stevie), and it is a joy to get to celebrate her goodness!

God is in the details…and HE shows up through the love and kindness of others!

Feeling “extra”…all things that come with a loss, I suppose. Needed to feel close to our special Little B, so I went to spend some quiet time in a favorite spot of mine this evening. God provided the right people at the right time to heal my heart tonight. HE is aware!

Memories flooded my heart and mind…the promises I made to Brixton before he passed…Oh, how I miss holding his precious hand, looking into his light-filled eyes, hearing his grunts, seeing his radiant smile. You taught me so much through your giant spirit!

So…daily…I keep those promises I made to him as his Grandma. The ducks will always have food and visitors. Holiday decorations will be displayed, even on silly holidays. Smiles will be given to strangers. Words of gratitude will be expressed. Love will be shared. Hugs will be given to your mommy and daddy.

Each of our children are examples in our lives! Jye and I (daily) thank the Lord for them…each one teaches us as they navigate life’s challenges, triumphs and heartaches.

Today, my heart is full as one year has passed since we hugged this special boy. Here is a tiny excerpt from Jace’s letter.

“365 days serving the LORD…It was seriously the hardest thing for me to decide to do. But after my experience in South Dakota, I couldn’t deny what I had just experienced and the power that I felt manifested in my life. From that time forth, I knew I was obligated to serve the Lord…It has been the most wonderful experience anyone could have on this earth…I am grateful for this past year and the change it has brought to my life…the faith and trust in the Lord it has given me…I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity by HIM to serve this mission for HIM.” by @aimee_patton

I don’t have a lot of words these days…but these words do help my heart navigate “hard”!

Gratitude also fills my soul as I witness an outpouring of love for B and our entire family. I get to be an observer of “Angels on Earth” who love his mommy and daddy so much. So many acts of kindness, love and generosity are being shown to them. Thank you to each of you who keep showing up for them. Keep praying for them—they need it now more than ever.

In the “hard”, it is the small things that carry people through. Fresh salsa 💃, a Mallard duck 🦆to remember our special times at the duck pond, beautiful flowers 💐, tender notes and on and on.

I do know who is “in control”, so I will patiently press forward, believing the peace will come. by @aimee_patton

I have learned a little (or a lot) about pain in this earthly life. Today, my new friend from Ft. Worth, Texas reminded of these beautiful principles about the ONE who can heal our pain. Oh, how grateful I am for a loving Jesus that KNOWS my pain and excruciating heartache. May you come to find peace in HIM as you navigate your own pain.💗

“It will comfort us when we must wait in distress for the Savior’s promised relief that He knows, from experience, how to heal and help us. … And faith in that power will give us patience as we pray and work and wait for help. He could have known how to succor us simply by revelation, but He chose to learn by His own personal experience.”

“Healing blessings come in many ways, each suited to our individual needs, as known to Him who loves us best. Sometimes a ‘healing’ cures our illness or lifts our burden. But sometimes we are ‘healed’ by being given strength or understanding or patience to bear the burdens placed upon us.” All that will come may be “clasped in the arms of Jesus.” All souls can be healed by His power. All pain can be soothed. In Him, we can “find rest unto [our] souls.” Our mortal circumstances may not immediately change, but our pain, worry, suffering, and fear can be swallowed up in His peace and healing balm.“ by @aimee_patton

November/December Chatbooks…

*Idaho trip to watch Hattie play in her last collegiate National Tournament game…Libero of the Year honor…having President Fogg join us was an absolute highlight! He changed Jye’s life 35+years ago!

*My health kicked my bum and forced me to STOP for a bit. Plugged my way through the end of the year.

*Schnepf Farms with B, Zack and Jade was sooooo much fun! Treasured memories and the most precious Santa visit.

*Phoenix Children’s PFAC end of the year celebration…grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the most amazing parents.

*The most gracious, beautiful friends a girl could ever imagine created memorable moments during the holidays…work party at the Hale Theatre was really wonderful! Grateful for incredible bosses!

*Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas…Jye was in heaven…and Kin was able to distract him so I could actually get a big Christmas gift surprise for him!🐴(last slide)

*The MOST delectable meal at Peter Luger Steakhouse…great company with the Wilson’s & Hatch’s…celebrated graduation and birthdays…and a big night ahead at our favorite’s concert!

*Surprised McKindree with the Vegas trip with a co-conspirator, G Man! His friendship, kindness, generosity and encouragement for the last 10 years has been remarkable!! Forever thankful, Garth!

*Idaho (again)to celebrate a huge milestone…graduation was unexpectedly very emotional. Jye and I are so grateful to have witnessed so many miraculous moments!

*Utah with the Varners was the BEST but never long enough. And…the world’s best Pilates teacher made the trip extra special! So proud of my sis, Lacey!

*Family Christmas gatherings are always such a special time! We have been so blessed with incredible siblings, cousins, in laws and the BEST Granny around! Christmas Eve breakfast tradition with the Bozzuto’s is always so loved!

*Christmas morning at home with my most precious treasures made me very emotional—just so thankful for each one of them! Special FaceTime with the best Elder & Christmas Day movie topped off a beautiful day! Jace was able to spend the day with some extra special families who treated him like their own! How amazing is that!🎄
