So the last year has been. A lot. I’m making this comic to practice painting and hopefully process all the things that have happened to me. Because tbh, I have no idea how.

Please don’t pry for information about these people (I’m nervous sharing even this much), but just in case: yes, my grandma really did tell me “just go the food bank.”
I’m speechless too.

You can support me at https://ko-fi.com/ainesart and https://youtube.com/@a1nesart.

I’m making disability art for spooky season! Today’s is about ANEMIA 🩸💀

Watch the process: https://youtu.be/SdV2kSdVEcI

$upport me: https://ko-fi.com/ainesart

Basically, #anemia is a condition where someone’s body doesn’t make enough healthy red blood cells. That means less iron and oxygen in the blood, which can lead to symptoms like dizziness or weakness. Me, I’m always fatigued no matter how much I rest. I got the headaches, cold hands, and faintness too.

What REALLY grinds my gears, though, is that anemia (combined with some co-occurring issues) makes me feel like I’m ALWAYS FREAKING BLEEDING and it’s getting old. Every couple weeks? Random nosebleed. Every day? Paper cuts. Hangnails. And every month, I lose what little iron I have to extremely painful and heavy periods. I just want my blood to stay in my body for five minutes.

❗️ Tw for discussion of child $exual abuse, financial abuse ❗️

I’m still kind of speechless from the food bank thing.

Also, my family is doing okay for now—but only because my mom locked in to provide for us, while my grandmother HAS enough spare cash to help. She just chooses not to use it.
