This is a work in progress clip from the #Pelea teaser, currently in production. We are Pelea Animation, an #indieanimation studio creating “Pelea”, a film about lesbians resisting imperialism and environmental destruction in a fictional South American country.

Behind the scenes of clean up #animation from a shot from the “PELEA” teaser 🐸🔬🧫🧪

Every detail is hand drawn, with a meticulous attention to detail. Animation direction was done by @manu_fafafa, and @ricaudrios as the Clean up animation team lead. Clean up & color animation for this shot was done by @isavic.mp4, with rough animation by @vals_alley, and background by @pavuk0.2.

We are a Colombian-American owned studio dedicated to using animation as a tool of education and resistance against the imperialism devestating Latin America. Stay tuned for the release of our teaser!

We are sharing highlights from #newyorkclimateweek 🌎

On Tuesday, with our partners over at @chilli.app, we screened the "Pelea" teaser for the first time EVER and launched our nonprofit @peleamovement 🎉

We had an incredible lineup of panelists and speakers, and an amazing audience! We could not be more grateful for everyone who came out and we have been blown away by the reception the "Pelea" teaser has gotten so far. We are so excited for our public launch and can't wait for even more of you to see it 💚

Our goal is to use the power of animation to support real world communities who've been impacted by resource extraction, militarism and imperialism. We are so honoured to be building this with all of you ✊🏾

Still basking in @peleaanimation’s first launch event with @urbanindigenouscollective. I’m so excited to announce the studio is partnering with them again TOMORROW, SATURDAY OCTOBER 17th for the “Indigenous People’s Day Ain’t Over” immersive celebration!

Animation and still images from the @peleaanimation production will be brought to life on immersive surround screens by @splitending & @3dgabe, accompanied by DJs. There will be many performers and vendors, including jewelry from the amazing @saparawomendream.

These photos are from #climateweek where we had our first launch and public #Pelea screenings, here’s to many more!

This Saturday, we’re transforming 20,000 square feet in Brooklyn into an immersive world of art, culture, storytelling, and community for Indigenous Peoples’ Day Ain’t Over!

We’re proud to highlight the incredible artists and creative teams bringing this experience to life through original paintings, installations, animation, extended reality (XR), and large-scale projection mapping.

Together, these artists tell the story of Indigenous People, our struggles, and triumphs. From the story of “migrants”, MMIP, the fight for climate justice, and creating an immersive experience using Unreal Engine to show what Lenapehoking looked like before colonizers arrived, there is something for everyone to connect to. This is true meeting of where traditional artistic expression with contemporary technology. And we want to make something very clear:

EVERY PIECE OF ART IN THIS EXPERIENCE IS HUMAN-MADE. NOT AI-GENERATED.

Every painting, animation, installation, and visual experience comes from the creativity, skill, imagination, and labor of real artists. At a time when artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to replace creative labor, we’re making an intentional commitment to supporting human artists, honoring their work, and ensuring that the stories of our communities are told through the people who create them.

Join us as we celebrate the artists keeping culture alive, pushing creative boundaries, and reminding the world that Indigenous creativity is not a thing of the past. It is our present and our future.

Today is #indigenouspeoplesday! This is @itaya_capuli, the Leader of International Relations for the Kichwa People of Sarayaku, in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

The Amazon is a metropolis of cultures that deserve to have their rights respected. It is more than trees, it is a sacred place that is irreplaceable.

Across the Amazon, fossil fuel extraction and mining continue to put forests, rivers, Indigenous territories, and the climate at risk. In Ecuador, voters have already spoken and passed the Yasuni National Park oil exploitation referendum. This reverses the President’s ability to allow extractive industries in the Yasuni National Park, which is supposed to be protected by law.

Tell the Ecuadorian government to honor the already passed referendum, which 59 percent of Ecuadorians voted for; protecting a vital biodiverse region and Indigenous lands. Citizens all over the country care about the wellbeing of irreplaceable natural resources as well as the impact of extraction on the people who inhabit them.

Signing your nation away to the empire 🇺🇸✍🏼….

All over the world, the United States CIA stages coups to install puppet leaders to do their bidding.

The animated film “Pelea” is about a CIA backed coup of the fictional South American nation of Vivencia, for oil and mineral resources.

There is a wave of fascism taking over Latin America: from Colombia, to Argentina, to Peru, right wing extremists are devestating the environment, Indigenous communities, and basic human rights. Now, Brazil is at risk of succumbing.

As an anti-imperialist studio, we use the power of animation to educate and resist. The #Pelea teaser is currently in production, and will be released later this year.

9/22/2026 CLIMATE WEEK @peleaanimation screening + @peleamovement launch ❤️‍🔥!

I am still recovering from such a busy but amazing #nyclimateweek. These photos are all from our first event on Tuesday, which was a collaboration with @chilli.app. This week I’m going to share a recap from each of the four events we organized for #climateweek.

I am so grateful for the reception the “Pelea” teaser has gotten from the first ever viewers! Our mission is to use the power of animation to support the real world fights to defend Indigenous lands and cultures from imperialist invasions. My heart has been heavy from the rise of fascism in my family’s home country of Colombia 🇨🇴, and all over Latin America. Our nations sovereignty is under attack, and Indigenous leaders are on the frontlines of the fight against the theft and extraction that comes with US imperial control.

We had a FANTASTIC time at #newyorkclimateweek! 🌎

We loved getting to see you all in person, share our teaser, introduce @peleamovement, and learn from all of you.

It was a full week of community, conversation, and commitment to fighting for our lands and cultures ✊🏽 We are honoured to have been here with incredible leaders and advocates calling for a just and equitable transition that protects the climate, safeguards biodiversity, and guarantees the rights of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and nature.
