The wildness , musicianship , frantic laughter and cigarette smoke by the chimney .
Cold Guinness .Warm hugs .

Whelans lock in Christmas Eve will go down as the best night of my life and for many others I’m sure .

Unplanned . Unauthorised and completely unforgettable .

My brother nudges me
“Adam Glen is handing around his guitar , go for it

Me “Fuck that”

Mike gives me a rye smile .

I genuinely thought I was going to vomit with the nerves of asking Glen for his sacred guitar .
So with a kind of squeaky yelp I said
“I’ve got one !”

It gets passed over the greatest musicians and poets to come out of Ireland and is now in my sweaty little palms.

The thin leather strap that smelt of him.
The deep soulful wooden musk off his guitar.

Right fuck it only one thing to do now ….

Thanks for everything Glen.
