It’s been a week without you. Duchess and I feel the huge void you’ve left every day. I’m so lucky to have been your mama. You found me at the perfect time- right after I lost Vegas, and two months later we lost Sparky together. You helped me grieve them and so much more. You were with me through all the good and the crazy times. Thank you for being the best dog I’ve ever known. You were the best foster brother/uncle/granddaddy. So tolerant, yet so stubborn. I would give anything to stand outside in the freezing cold and yell your name 20 times because you don’t want to come inside. You were obviously the best brother to Duchess. She looks for you still. She’s confused. We wish you could live forever, but so glad you’re no longer suffering. I miss you and your pushy hugs so much, bud. My big bud. My Dukey Bear. Dukey Doo. Doo Doo. My gentle giant. My stubborn boy. My handsome bud. You are the greatest thing ever. Mama loves you always. 💔💙🐾🐶

Orangeburg reunion! 🧡 I’m so glad I got to see one of my oldest friends @brockstyles and sweat on the sidelines with @briana_ni working a game together. We’ve never all worked together but Athletic Trainers just know how to fill in where needed. It was a pleasure to help this guy out. I’d do it again in a heartbeat, just save me for that night game. Dogs that help you grieve hit a little different.
Mama Betty, you have no idea the healing you’ve brought to Duchess and me. Before you arrived, Duchess still wasn’t eating regularly (without intervention) even 5 months after losing her brother. She wouldn’t pickup a toy. She wouldn’t eat peanut butter or ice or enjoy the bones she used to love. You made that happen- she became way more playful and ate like normal. You squished me on the sofa and reminded me how a dog can feel like twice their weight. Somehow there’s healing in that and it made me appreciate Duke’s large size again. Little do you know, you’re headed to another house who is still healing themselves. It’s weird how the dog universe aligns our needs and somehow figures out a way to fulfill them. I know you’re going to have an amazing life with your new family. And thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Duchess and me heal. Thank you for letting us be apart of your journey. 245 days.

That’s how long Scooby had been waiting before he got a shelter break.

Scooby arrived at the shelter on November 12, 2025, and 245 days later, he’s still holding onto hope. He has not given up, and his team of volunteers, staff, and trainers won’t give up on him either. We know he is a great dog!

Despite spending 245 days in the shelter, Scooby still greets people with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and a toy in his mouth. He still believes his person is out there.

At just 2 years old and 62 pounds, Scooby is sweet, cuddly, and happiest when he’s close to his favorite human. He wants to please, loves affection, and if you toss him a toy, you’ve just become his new best friend. 🧸🤎

Scooby has done well around small children. He prefers female dogs and can be selective with male dogs.

Scooby is heartworm positive, but there’s great news—his heartworm treatment has already been funded! Now he just needs a foster home where he can safely complete his treatment. It’s a temporary commitment that could change his life forever.

Giving up just isn’t in Scooby’s blood. After 245 days, he’s still choosing hope every single day. Now he just needs someone to choose him.

Could you foster? Adopt? Rescue? Even sharing his story could help him find the home he’s been waiting so patiently for.

Adopt DJ (Aka Don Julio)🥃🐾

DJ is about 2.5 months old. He’s a happy little guy, just soaking up anything and everything life has to offer. He loves his toys and chewing on bones. DJ is totally into fetch, treats and naps. He also LOVES water. If you’re looking for a dog to join you at the beach 🏝️ in the pool 🏊‍♂️ or on the lake 🚤 DJ is your guy! We can just imagine him in a tiny little life jacket.🤭

Just like any young puppy, he needs entertainment, patience, and structure. He’s working on his training but is quiet in his crate and improves every day with potty training. 🩵

May was packed and full of dogs per usual. 🌷🐶

Thanks, Ma, for coming to take care of me, and thanks for bringing your dogs. 3 dogs felt right again. Mother’s Day together is rare but always nice with my Mama. 🥰
