24 🌿
As I turned 24 on the 27th, I found myself deeply grateful.

I am so grateful to God to be alive! I'm grateful to be healthy, even as I recover from injuries.
I am so grateful to have family members who love me and whom I love.
I'm so grateful to have friends from across my many phases of life who have cared for me and continue to do so.

How blessed I am to live and love!

I'm grateful to Mother Earth for being our home, for taking form as the food we eat every day, as the water we drink, as the air we breathe 🌎

I'm so grateful to have spent increasing amounts of time with young ones as a 23 year old. As an adult, I feel like I have a duty—and lovely blessing—to make my family, community, and society, and planet a little safer, healthier, and beautiful for kids. What a blessing it is to be looked up to!

Anyway, thank you to each of you who made 23—my so-called Chromosomal Year 🧬—so fruitful, complex, challenging, and beautiful. At 24, every year I've lived is an hour in the day of my life.

Happy Spring Equinox y'all 🌱🌸!!

March 20th, 2026 marks the official start of the Spring season here in the Northern Hemisphere. This moment—the halfway point between the Winter and Summer Solstices— has always been an important moment for me.

I often reflect on the new things emerging within my life on the Spring equinox: friendships, family dynamics, projects, creative endeavors, meaningful causes, challenges. Just as many trees begin bursting forth with new flowers and blossoms for fruits, I feel a surge of energy and expression that often comes after the quieter, somewhat slower winter months (even here in South Florida).

My winter has been full. Full of grief over loved ones, some still living (but differently than before), some having passed. Full of reflection and avoidance. Full of being humbled, and of being encouraged to take up more space. Much has been/is being released in my life.

So, I offer this poem, "Emergence", as gratitude for the previous season and as an embrace of the new season.

I hope we you have a powerful and meaningful Spring, dear friends 🌿

I've been blessed with once-in-a-lifetime love
Several times,
Love that sings about dancing in fields of dandelions
And sings to me, asking how I wish to receive love.

I've walked once-in-a-lifetime loves through this backyard, often manicured and dry,
But today, for the first time in my life,
This little yard has come alive
With a bloom of barely white and pretty pink,
A bloom that reassures me love is here, in this moment, ready to be enjoyed,
No matter what doubts I think.
