We are really excited to share that our story "West Coast Wandering" is in @bikepackingcom Journal 14. Feeling super grateful to be a part of it, alongside so many other awesome folk 🌞

The story is from our time riding through New Zealand and specifically our time along the west coast of the South Island. This was one of our favourite sections of the whole trip, so it's amazing to have this as something to remember it by.

Jaw dropping views from Upper Pissang to Manang 🏔️

This was one of our favourite days from the circuit. A detour through the quaint villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal, gave us views of Annapurna II and Gangapurna towering above us all day. It was hard to keep our eyes on the trail. taken in Annapurna Circuit by @alan.danby

More ‘It’s not always sun and fun on the bike’ stories.

We luckily didn’t have many mechanicals on our journey. Most were minor and fixable, or within riding distance to a bike shop.

We did have a few comical moments though. One of which happened on our first day riding the Tian Shan traverse. As we rolled up to our first camp spot up Djuku pass, Britt managed to slice her tyre and then spray sealant all over herself, mainly all over her face. Absolute rookie. Luckily there was plenty of opportunity to have a splash in the lake beside camp and take some time to sew the tyre back up as my and Duane got dinner on.

In the morning we watched on as hundreds of sheep made their way past camp and up the pass, accompanied by two shepherds, a father and son team. We thought we’d catch them up, but they were nowhere to be seen as we started pushing our way up through the boulder field that lay before us.

I’m sure you’re wondering what happened to Britt’s handy work, well that tyre lasted the rest of our trip in Kyrgyzstan and many more miles afterwards.

Thought I'd share a little balance.
It's not always sun and fun on the bike.

This was our day after yesterday's post. We got absolutely soaked and nearly froze at the top of Karakol Pass.

But we made it down to camp, got cosy and tucked into some very smelly dried trout.

Me and Ben had been dreaming about getting out on the Scottish hills for some spring turns for a couple of years now. Last week everything lined up and we're were able to get after it.

We didn't really know what we would find and kept our expectations pretty low. But after riding into to make a wee base camp, we were pleasantly surprised and ended up staying for a couple of days, searching for different spots and dodging bogs.

This little teaser has got me super excited to explore more next winter. taken in Scotland by @alan.danby

Went on a springtime adventure from the doorstep, lived in Goodlids for the weekend, reflected on slowing down, and came to the conclusion that home ain’t bad after all.

Thought I’d share another ‘It’s not always sun and fun on the bike’ stories.

Whilst in the Tian Shan mountains we found ourselves hunkering down in an old shepherds hut. Our day had started sunny and ended in a storm. Luckily we found this shelter as we rode down Arabel valley, it was rustic, full of random items and luckily a small table we could cook up some dins.

Duane wanted to stay the night, but we thankfully persuaded him green pastures weren’t far away.

The next morning we were treated to beautiful blue skies and a chance to thaw out in the rays.
